Me & Mine – December 2016

Me & Mine - December 2016

It’s quite some time since I attempted, and quickly failed, to join in with the Me & Mine Family Portrait Project.  For some reason, getting a family photo has always been so much harder than my monthly Siblings images but I’ve decided to give it another go!  It probably would have made sense to just start in the new year and join in with January’s posts but as we had taken a set of photos this week that I wanted to share, here we are!

I recently invested in a new tripod which we took up to Heaton Park for a play – until now we’ve always just found places to precariously balance my camera.  I did feel a bit silly posing in front of the tripod in public but you know what, if it means we get some decent photos of us all together each month then so be it!  We set the timer and Dave did the mad dash back before the photo was taken – perhaps we need to invest in a new remote for the camera before the next lot of photos!  I can’t decide if some of the images are slightly out of focus or if my eyes are just really very tired but either way . . . this is us, at the end of 2016, together.

I can’t quite believe how grown up my babies are looking as we enter a new year and I’m excited to try and capture a full year of family photos!

  1. Lovely collection honey. What tripod do you have, I one myself. I’m the same as you love, haven’t managed to join in this year that much at all but mainly because Mr H is not a fan of having his photo taken, I need to get more creative. Sounds like you have had a lovely Christmas and I completely agree your babies are looking big, I have thought that recently when I have seen your snaps on IG. Have a great start to the new year x #meandmine

    1. I’ll tweet you a link for the tripod!
It’s funny how they suddenly look so much more grown up isn’t it – I just don’t know where the time goes!

  2. lovely photo’s, I find it so hard to get the family ones but I am now so happy that I have managed it all year. I have a tripod and it makes life much easier but the remote drives me crazy when it doesn’t work and the children want to do the mad dash but stand in front of the camera and change the focus! It sure is a good job the photos are worth the stress once a month! x

  3. Good luck with this – I’m having a go too! But only because I managed to get one yesterday… can’t see it lasting past January 😉 I figure it’s hard enough getting the Siblings ones! But in for a penny and all that…. Happy New Year to you lovely lady, hope we get to meet up again x

  4. I think they are amazing hunny. I feel the same in the park and hubby gets twitchy when I bring out the tripod in public at the park and people are walking by us while we smile to the camera. Hates it in fact but always loves the results afterwards. hahaha I got a remote for like £4 on amazon for mine I was just not making the run dash and back in place fast enough. Getting old hahahah Happy New Year! #meandmineproject
