With the Commonwealth Games, the World Cup, Wimbledon and the Grand Prix it has most definitely been a summer of sport. Of course if you read my blog you will know that I’m really not that bothered – I like to watch the Grand Prix occasionally but don’t follow it avidly, I couldn’t be less interested in football and tennis if I tried though I do sometimes get quite into watching the gymnastics and so forth at the Commonwealth Games.
However – when, in honour of this “Summer of Sport” I was asked to take inspiration from different countries around the world and chose items from JD Williams to make an outfit – I was all set to give it a go!
Initially I thought I’d go with France and look for something with a nice navy stripe (ok, ok I love a navy stripe and I’m not denying it) but unfortunately there was nothing on the site that really fit the bill. I spent quite a while browsing the site and found that, whilst there is wide range of clothing available, I think it is probably aimed a slightly older demographic.
What I actually stumbled across in the end was a Regatta Parka . . . . “not very summery Colette?!” I hear you cry. Pah. You know we live in Britain right? So, in honour of the great British summer here is my new coat:
*Disclaimer – I was sent the coat free of charge for the purposes of writing this post*
