Benisms – The Car Edition

Much as I hate that we can’t all fit in one car at the moment and have to take two cars every time we go out as a family – I do quite enjoy the chats I have with Ben while he’s sat in the front with me.  He knows an awful lots about road signs and the rules of driving in general as it’s something we often end up talking about as we’e driving along.

Tonight however we were discussing the things we might like to do in the summer holidays . . .

Me: I’ve got lots of exciting adventures planned for the holidays

Ben: Is one of them a zoo?

Me: It might be! You never know.  What else might you like to do?

Ben: Erm . . . A dinosaur bone hunt!  Because all the dinosaurs were really excited on the last day of their lives.  They went into the sea and died and then their bones were washed up on the shore so we could go to the beach and see if we could find some?
Me: That sounds pretty cool! So you’d like a trip to the seaside then?  (All the while trying not to laugh at all these excited dinosaurs dying at once!)

We carried on talking about the other things he might like to do and he was a bit stuck for ideas – luckily I’ve got quite a few little trips up my sleeve that I know they’re going to love.

He made me smile again tonight when we were asking Chloe what had been the best bits of her birthday, he told us “My highlight was spending my time with Chloe” and then gave her a big hug – bloody gorgeous boy!  (We often talk about what was the “best bit” of the day and I had taught him the word highlight in the car on the way home from York last weekend so was especially impressed that he had used tonight)

He’s such an awesome little conversationalist and his command of our crazy language never ceases to amaze me!

Oh I love him! How cute is he?! I love the thought of a whole bunch of dinosaurs going off for a paddle and then being excited at the prospect of dying! hahaha! x

I know! Made me laugh that they all just died on the same day as well! The way kids' heads works is awesome at times x
