Celebrating 10 years of “How to Catch a Star” by Oliver Jeffers

How to Catch a Star - special edition

How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers is easily one of my favourite books.  I discovered it many years ago whilst browsing the picture books one afternoon in Waterstones with my best friend.  I was immediately taken by the beautiful images and the wistful tone of the text  . . .

Once there was a boy who loved stars very much. Every night he watched the stars from his window and wished he had one of his very own . . .

I’ve shared the book in many a classroom since and of course with my own children!  We have lots of Oliver Jeffers books on our shelves now but How to Catch a Star will always hold a special place in our hearts!

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of this truly wonderful book, HarperCollins have published a gorgeous hardback gift edition (available 27th March 2014 from Amazon), including a letter from the author and previously unpublished drawings.

We're going on an adventure

Lost and found, because it's the only one we own so we read it all the time the illustrations are beautiful.

My little girl loves The Way Back Home. The illustrations are fabulous and the story is totally different and original compared to other books I've read with her. She loves the section at the end…'the what happens next' bit, where you can carry on your own version of the story x
