Disney Store Summer of Adventure

It’s a little known fact that I worked for the Disney Store in my late teens and early twenties. Yes, I was the girl standing on the door welcoming you to the store and wishing you a nice day.  The girl who danced around the shop singing and being a bit silly with other cast members (also known as staff to those of you who aren’t in the know!) and generally loving her job!  It also meant that I was a fountain of random Disney facts – people used to actually ring us at work to check if Sebastian was a crab or a lobster or to find out what the first film Disney ever made was . . . clearly this was pre Google!! Nobody would ever need to do that now!

I remember getting so excited when it was time for the new season stock to arrive in store – to see which characters were going to be on them, to see what new twist had been added to the standard lines.  Opening a big parcel of summer goodies from The Disney Store earlier this month was like being back in store – except that I didn’t have to unpack it all and put it out on the shelves!!  Usually when I get blog deliveries I like to put them to one side and leave them until I can open them in peace without prying eyes and inquisitive fingers helping me out!  However, with “Disney Store” clearly emblazoned on the side of the box, there was no chance my girls were going to let me leave this one till later!

After filling the guys at the Disney Store in on my children’s favourite characters, they had put together a huge bundle of goodies for my team from their ‘Summer of Adventure’ Shop – everything we could need for our summer break and even some things looking forward to being back at school in September.

Their spacious character rucksacks were a big hit and they’ve already decided they will be perfect for carrying their swimming gear, or perhaps for using as hand luggage if we manage to get ourselves on a plane over summer and then for school in September – (where I’m sure they will become a graveyard for homework and important permission slips!)

I’m all set for picnics and play-dates in the park with our new Disney cool bag – it’s the perfect size for some snacks and drinks!  It’s going to be much easier to keep the kids hydrated with their new character drink cups too – Amy’s is perfect for taking out and about with it’s flip top and carry handle, whereas Ben and Chloe’s are great for at home chilling in front of the tv.

The long summer evenings we’re enjoying at the moment are perfect for sneaking out after tea to soak up every last drop of Vitamin D.  The kids love their new chalks which mean they can be as artistic as they like on the path and it will wash away again (though they’re thoroughly amused by the fact that the lack of rain forecast means their masterpieces might be there for weeks!)

With the glorious heatwave we are currently basking in, our little gang are very much looking forward to a summer of paddling pools and water fights – so their gorgeous Disney Store beach towels will come in very handy (they’re already using them to snuggle up in after a bath because they’re just so soft!

Why not pop over and see what the Disney Store has to offer for your little ones this summer?

I love the Disney store so much, and I always end up coming out with more items than I went in for! I wish we had one nearer to us, as I just love the whole atmosphere of the shops.

Very envious of your past career, although if I work in the Disney store I would no doubt spend all of my wages in there ! Loving the chalks and beach towels, perfect for the summer holiday season x

I remember when the Disney Store first opened up in our home town – must have been over 25 years ago now and I think it’s more than 20 years since I set foot in one having then left home and gone to Uni. That’s such a great range of items to kick start the nearly-summer holidays. Long may the sunshine continue for you to make the best use of them

What great treats for the kids from the Disney Store, I bet they love all the different Character bits, I know my daughter would’ve loved this goody bag when she was a little young.
