Just before Christmas Ben and Chloe were sent a parcel of Heroes of the City goodies. We hadn’t heard of Heroes of the City before and initially Ben thought the cars looked like they were from the Pixar movie Cars.
Heroes of the City is a cartoon, aimed at children age 3 – 7, “about rescue vehicles in a small town where everybody gets to be a hero!”
The both really enjoy playing with the vehicles – they are a good size to pop in my bag and have out and about for distraction purposes while Amy is feeding!
I’ve written before about how we are a predominately CBeebies household and one of the main reasons for this is that I like to feel there’s a bit of a purpose behind what they are watching. Heroes of the City falls into this same sort of category as it focuses on the importance of friendship and working together as a team to get things done. Ben and Chloe both really enjoyed the DVD – though I would say I think it will be more appealing to the younger end of the target audience. Ben can concentrate for a lot longer now and is enjoying watching full length films and has somewhat of an obsession with super heroes, Chloe on the other hand manages generally about 15 minutes tops before she loses her concentration and wants to do something else meaning short, simple episodes are more her thing!
I really like that there is a range of ways of accessing Heroes of the city – books, toys, dvds and even an app which is available here:
If you’d like to win a selection of goodies similar to those pictured above just complete as many of the Rafflecopter options as you like – of course the more you do the more chance you have of winning!
