I’m a big fan of nice home fragrances – be it a lovely scented candle or a diffuser, or maybe even both! I love the cosy light that candles can bring to your home at this time of year.
Scented candles, whilst pretty, can sometimes be a little disappointing in terms of the level of fragrance they actually manage to produce. In this instance I’m afraid I think you really do get what you pay for. I have a few firm favourites but they are expensive so I’m always open to trying out something new. Over the last few weeks I’ve been testing out a couple of Landon Tyler products – they claim to be luxury at an affordable price.
I’m super fussy about fragrances – both for myself and for my home, so choosing products based on an online description is always going to be a bit tricky. Landon Tyler currently have range of twelve delicious scents available. Although I do love amber based fragrances, they can be a bit hit and miss for me so are definitely something I prefer to try before I buy! After spending some time reading the descriptions I settled on Chesil Beach – I often find that sea themed fragrances appeal to me so it felt like a fairly safe bet. Described as “a clean oceanic scent combining precious woods, fresh lavender, bergamot and spice” I expected a really fresh, light scent.
I must admit that I was really surprised when I opened the candle and diffuser to find that Chesil Beach is actually quite a masculine fragrance to my mind. It’s not unpleasant at all, just not what I was expecting.
The large 100ml Landon Tyler diffuser sits in our new bathroom and fills the small room with just the right amount of fragrance – Landon Tyler state that due to the superior quality of the oils and reeds this diffuser should be able to keep my home fragranced for at least three months. I haven’t tried the diffuser in my living room but I do think it would be effective enough to provide a soft fragrance in our large open plan living space.
The single wick candle should, with the appropriate care, burn for up to 40 hours. The slightly smoked glass jar is a very pretty addition to my candle collection and the fragrance isn’t over bearing – if anything I would probably prefer it to be a little stronger however with a maximum price of £12 within the range I can’t really complain!
We were sent the Landon Tyler candle and diffuser free of charge for the purposes of review however all thoughts and opinions remain my own*
