Of course having had a great first week’s weigh in I felt thoroughly rewarded for all my efforts and was totally motivated to keep my head down, determined to get my half stone award this week.
With working full time last week I had to be quite organised with my lunches and found myself eating the same thing day after day – Batchelors Cup a Pasta, fat free yogurt & grapes. For the sake of 5 days this was ok but I know if I was going to carry on working full time I’d need to put some more variety in there so I didn’t get bored and feel deprived.
Aside from my lunches at work we’ve been eating a lot of jacket potatoes with tuna and a huge pile of fresh spinach – nice and cheap in the run up to payday! My favourite meal this last week was when Dave cooked up a huge frittata with peas, tomatoes and bacon – it was delicious and really filling.
I had lunch out with my Mum on Saturday and whilst my meal wasn’t particularly Slimming World friendly I wasn’t too worried as the rest of my day was Syn free and I didn’t have a desert or anything which I would normally!
My biggest win for the week though was sitting in the beautiful Hotel Chocolat cafe in John Lewis in York and only drinking a Diet Coke with one small chocolate. Normally turning down their immense hot chocolates or the chocolate orange brownie that I had glanced at would have been all too much and I would have caved in, probably ordering both. But this time I wasn’t bothered. Yes I could have had them but actually I wanted to see the loss on the scales more. The pleasure I would have got from eating and drinking those treats may have lasted the couple of hours I was sat there but in reality the feeling of a good loss would last so much longer.
So much like last week I knew I’d stuck to plan really well but I was still so nervous before I got on the scales. I knew I wanted a 2lb loss and I’d have been gutted if I hadn’t got that half stone when it was so close however I didn’t expect this at all . . .
Another 4.5lb down taking me to 9.5lb in just two weeks! If I could do the same again this coming week I’d be close to hitting my first stone. 9.5lb means I’m already a third of the way to my first target. Already a third of the way to my wedding weight!!
We’re away this coming weekend with several meals out to negotiate over the course of the three days – this clearly has the potential to be quite damaging however I’m going to make sure I’m super careful before and after and I’m working on the basis that much as I’d love another good chunk off like this week in reality if I lose anything at all I’ll have done ok!
