Last week my 2.5lb loss got me “back in credit” after a gain the week before and my first stone was in my sights. With a 10.5lb total loss it was feasible that I could reach my first stone this week. Feasible but not terribly likely. 3.5lb is obviously quite a bit to lose in one week. That said I knew I had nothing going on this week and could really keep my focus – no meals out or cheeky cake opportunities to factor in.
I’ve tried hard to increase my intake of speed foods but there’s definitely still room for improvement there. I’ve made sure I’ve stuck within my Syns each day, some days I’ve managed to be considerably under them too which is unusual if I’m honest. Much like last week there has been a reliance on frittatas and jacket potatoes which has been fine however we’re looking forward to a bit more variety next week now we’ve done a “big shop”.
I will hold my hands up and say I’d jumped on the scales at home more than once this week so I knew the numbers were going the right way and I expected I might even do so well as to lose 3lb.
I was really nervous going to my Slimming World class this morning – not for worrying about whether I would have lost but just for worrying about how much it would be and if I really was in with a chance of getting my shiny “1 stone” sticker. I knew I would be disappointed if it was a small loss. When I arrived at class things were all a bit hectic, our Consultant hadn’t been able to make it so we had a visiting Consultant who was basically just hosting a “Weigh and Go” – which was a bit frustrating as it meant there was no opportunity for “Image Therapy” – no chance to celebrate losses and work through gains, which is of course a big part of what you’re paying for. However these things happen and I appreciated that things had been organised so that we had still been able to get weighed!
4.5lb!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had hardly dared hope for the 3.5lb loss which would achieve my first stone so with a 4.5lb loss I’d absolutely nailed it! As a result of this week’s class being a “Weigh and Go” I wasn’t able to get my certificate but this will be celebrated next Saturday morning when our usual Consultant in back in class with us. With a 4.5lb loss I would have been in with a good shout of getting Slimmer of the Week as well so that was a bit of a shame, I’d have liked to add that sticker to my collection!
I’m now almost half way to my Wedding Weight – in just 5 weeks! I’ve got 17lbs to go and at my current rate of loss my progress chart on the Slimming World website reckons I should get to target by the start of May. My next mini target is to lose another 3.5lb and get to the next stone under. Right now I weigh about the same as I did when I got pregnant with Ben and Chloe and around the same as I did on my 30th birthday however I know my shape is so much different so I don’t feel as slim as I did then. When I started out on #OperationWeddingWeight I had in my head that I wanted to “feel better” by my birthday and I do, I can see and feel a difference but there’s still a long way to go. It’s our wedding anniversary in a few weeks and I’ve decided I’m going to try my wedding dress on . . . that should keep me going over the next couple of weeks! I’m looking forward to a lovely big Sunday lunch tomorrow for Mother’s Day but otherwise there’s nothing else going on so fingers crossed I can keep the scales going the right way.
