Operation Wedding Weight – Weigh in #6

This week seems to have flown by – I can’t believe it’s already time for another update!

We had a really busy weekend last weekend – after my fantastic 4.5lb weight loss last Saturday I was on a high but knew I was looking at a tough week with Mother’s Day and the like.  On Saturday afternoon we went over to Liverpool to watch some Men’s Roller Derby with friends which *might* have involved a delicious home baked chocolate orange brownie (my goodness did I savour that) which would have been fine on its own however the event finished far later than we had expected and we found ourselves in the car with three hungry and tired little people and a good drive ahead of us to get them home to bed.  We decided the best possible option was to hit the motorway services and just get them fed so that they’d cope better with the drive home and be able to go straight to bed when we got them in.  33 syns and a McDonalds later . . . Ouch.  I’m going to win my winners on that one though – I declined an ice cream when offered, I checked all my syns when I got home and I wrote it down.  I stayed in control. Of course Sunday was Mother’s Day which meant a big family roast dinner – Dave did an awesome job of the main course followed by a chocolate cake made by my little sister.  I paid little attention to my syns and enjoyed my Yorkshire puddings!  Again it was just the one meal, I didn’t treat it as a big blow out and I was back on plan by tea time. 

A cheeky midweek weigh in at home was showing that the weekend combined with “star week” (which basically means time of the month!) was putting me about 3lb up.  I was really good for the rest of the week but in reality knew I was still likely to have put on about 2lb by the time I was on the scales this morning.  

So when the scales showed a 0.5lb gain I was actually really quite relieved.  In reality I’d done really well to get to that stage and I still had my “stone”.  It turns out I had got Slimmer of the Week last week so it was nice to have that celebrated in class this week and get another shiny sticker on my book!

This week I’m just aiming for a maintain if I’m honest – I know that’s not exactly aspirational but it’s my birthday this week.  We’ve had a bit of a party this afternoon and I’ve eaten all sorts – pizza, sausages, cheesecake . . . and I will definitely enjoy some treats on my actual birthday.  I’m not going to feel guilty about that, life goes on and I’m not going to deprive myself.  I just need to keep my head straight the rest of the week and try to balance it all out!  If I can maintain I’ll have done well . . .       Thanks Emma! Normally I would, normally a bad meal would turn into a bad day, a bad week, a bad month but at the moment I seem to have my head in the right place and I'm just keeping on keeping on.

    Such a small gain is insignificant when you look at what you have already achieved and it goes to show even with taking a day or two off you have still worked damn hard to maintain your fantastic loss so far.     You're doing fab! It's always good to keep track and we all have times when we need to let our hair down and enjoy ourselves, getting back on track is the key for me! Good luck for this week x

    Well done for getting slimmer of the week last week! You did well to have only put on such a little amount over Mother's Day! I tried telling my other half not to let the boys buy chocolates but it fell on deaf ears!
