How to Catch a Star by Oliver Jeffers is easily one of my favourite books.  I discovered it many years ago whilst browsing the picture books one afternoon in Waterstones with my best friend.  I was immediately taken by the beautiful images and the wistful tone of the text  . . . Once there was a boy who loved stars very much. Every night he watched the stars from his window and wished he had one of his very own . . . I’ve shared the book in many a classroom since and of course with my own children!  We have lots of Oliver Jeffers books on our shelves now but How to Catch a Star will always hold a special place in our hearts!
