You already know I’m a big fan of Tiffany Rose – I wrote about my two favourite maternity dresses previously. I have to admit to being pretty sad that I won’t ever have chance to wear those dresses again as I felt SO amazing in them! I highly recommend them both!
Of course when I was offered the chance to review a dress from the current collection at Tiffany Rose I was hardly going to say no was I!
Tiffany Rose began in 2003 with a simple aim: to offer pregnant women the chance to wear exciting, elegant beautiful and well-made designs for special occasions.
Unfortunately I don’t really have an “occasion” to go to at the moment. Amy was only 7 weeks old so Christmas wasn’t really about parties for us this year. I would have chosen a dress for her christening but it’s quite a few months away so I couldn’t guarantee it would fit! With this in mind I decided to choose a dress that I could wear during the day as well to get as much wear out of it as possible. There’s some really glamorous dresses in the Nursing section of the website which would be ideal if I was going to a winter wedding (I can’t really see why else you would need to be so glamorous and have boob access being as how you are unlikely to take your baby to a Christmas party?).
My favourite dress in the Tiffany Rose Nursing collection was the Cruise dress which I would have chosen if I hadn’t already got the maxi version – I particularly love the discreet pannel for feeding. Initially I ordered the Tulip dress in grey – and whilst the shape was gorgeous the colour did me no favours so I swapped it for the Tulip Bloom Maternity Dress – now this is not listed as a nursing dress but I figured the style would be flattering on my post natal “curves” and would easily pull to the side to feed. As a bonus the lovely print would be great for disguising puke or leaking boobs (I know it’s not glamorous but it’s a fact!)
Of course I would love to show you pictures of myself wearing this at some fabulous lunch or something but I’m afraid that’s not happening, I have in fact struggled to get any decent pictures of me wearing it at all – it’s always dark or raining at the moment so the photos I’ve taken just aren’t doing the dress justice so instead I’m going to show you how gorgeous it looks on this lovely model and then add some personal photos at a later date!
The dress is made from the gorgeous heavy jersey I’ve come to expect from Tiffany Rose with a lovely sash detail to glam it up. I found the neckline is a bit awkward underwear wise – maternity and nursing bras tend to fit a bit higher up so the neckline on the dress is too low for me and I had to wear the extra layer of a nursing vest underneath just for modesty! I love that this dress can be dressed up with heels or down with tights and boots for a more casual look. I don’t love this as much as my other Tiffany Rose dresses but that’s just personal taste – it’s a lovely dress, it just doesn’t suit my style.
If you’re looking for a dress for a special occasion – a wedding, a christening etc I really can’t recommend Tiffany Rose highly enough! I can’t deny the dresses are expensive but I believe they are worth the investment!
