I’m a huge advocate of children’s theatre. I think there’s something really special about the experience of watching a performance on stage. And of course, the educational benefits can’t be ignored!
Although Ben and Chloe have seen quite a range of shows now, Amy is still very new to theatre so I’m excited to take them all to Sale Waterside to see Puss in Boots performed by Cbeebies regular Patrick Lynch and billed as being the ideal show for first time theatre goers.
Also at Sale Waterside this half term is Blunderbus Theatre Company’s brand new adaptation of the timeless tale of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Lolly Pops and Circus Props from Artful Playground – both perfect for younger audiences up to about 7 years old.
If you’re looking for something a little more grown up, check out SPI ( Science, Participate, Inspire) presents Forensic Science in Action for children aged 7-11 and offers a full on espionage experience – getting hands on and up close to the real life work of crime scene investigators! How exciting does that sound!
And finally, one I know Ben would love is ComedySportz, a monthly improv show aimed at 8+ – a comedy filled evening featuring two teams battling it out with funny songs, sketches and games. This is definitely something I’m going to look at taking him too later in the year!
If you’ve already made plans for half term and are looking ahead to Easter, then check out Monday’s Child – which sounds utterly magical.
In celebration of all this wonderful children’s theatre at Sale Waterside over the coming months, I’m offering the chance to win a family ticket for Monday’s Child at 2pm on Saturday 8th April 2017. If you’d like to enter, please complete the Rafflecopter below, ensuring to do this accurately to avoid disqualification.
