What’s your car called?

Does your car have a name?  I don’t think I’ve ever really named my car in the past but I do have a bit of a habit for naming inanimate objects – regular readers will know that my beloved DSLR is better known as “Jonny”.

Co-op insurance have created a “Name Your Ride” tool which, after asking a few quick questions about your car, comes up with a name for you car!  I was asked to click through and find out what my car should be called . . .

I must admit I rather think that “Kathy” rather suits our old Ford Mondeo Estate!  We’ve had our “Mondey” for almost 4 years now.  My parents bought it for us a wedding present shortly before I returned to work after having Chloe.  We were just so thrilled with all the extra space she provided us however we quickly outgrew her.  We spent the first year of Amy’s life having to drive two cars everywhere as we couldn’t fit three car seats across the back.  Since Christmas we’ve managed to squish everyone in with the use of a booster seat for Ben (which I must admit is not my preferred option at all and we’re constantly researching new car seats for a better solution) but her days are numbered and we do need to invest in a bigger car, we just have to find the money first!

Do you name your family car?  Give the tool a try, I’d love to know what name it comes up with and if you think it suits your car!

I quite like Kathy. I think most cars are girls aren't they? We used to have Mabel the Megane but our current car doesn't have a name. I haven't bonded with her.

My first car was Whippy – it was a blue Ford Fiesta and the number plate was WPP hence the name. Then there was Bumblebee which was later called Lumpy Custard – it was a bright sunshine yellow Fiat Seicento. Now we have a Silver Honda which probably needs a name even though we've had it for a year lol.

According to the website it's Donald lol. Then again according to it my Fiat should be Britney (heck no!)
