Autumn Bucket List

Last Updated on 7 July 2020 by Colette

I love a good list but mine are usually boring things like groceries or jobs that need doing around the house.  I was fully inspired by this list of FUN autumnal activities recently and decided to write my own!

This autumn is a big one for Family Burgess with Ben starting full time school, Chloe getting read to start playschool soon (we hope!) and preparing for the arrival of Beak in November.

So here goes, this is my Burgess Family Autumn Bucket List:
1. Collect conkers
2. Get wrapped up and go to a bonfire (this might fall by the wayside depending on Beak!)
3. Kick leaves
4. Splash in puddles
5. Make an apple crumble
6. Enjoy the fireworks (assuming Ben and Chloe aren’t scared this year . . . )
7. Introduce Ben and Chloe to the joys of hot Ribena
8. Autumn themed crafts
9. Celebrate my beautiful god daughter’s 1st birthday
10. Introduce the kids to the joy of sparklers
11. Blow “dragon breath” in the cold air
12. Leaf rubbings
So just a short list, I’ll let you know how we get on!
What are you looking forward to this Autumn?

  1. Thanks for linking back! Where are you from? I loved reading your list because it is much different from ours. Fireworks equals the 4th of July for us (USA). lol Hope you have an awesome week!

    • I live in Manchester, England hence my renaming it Autumn rather than Fall 😉
Fireworks for us are on bonfire night (5th November) and a lovely treat in the cold miserable nights
Halloween and pumpkins feature a lot less in my October than they do yours as well 😀 x

  3. Our must in the fall was always playing in the leaf piles. Sadly as the kids have gotten older, they don't seem to want to do it anymore. 🙁 It always cracked me up to see them jumping around and the dogs joining them!

  4. What a nice idea to have a bucket list for a more short-term time. I think I will have a go at doing this.

  5. So nice to see the differences with your Autumn and the one I experience in Hawai'i (not exactly autumnal). 🙂 I'm curious as to what Ribena may be and conkers. 🙂 Would love to know about your Halloween, if celebrated at all (I don't typically celebrate myself).

    • Wow yes I bet your Autumn is pretty different! Ribena is a blackcurrant drink – its pretty sweet but lovely and comforting if you make it warm.
Conkers are also known as horse chestnuts, they come from horse chestnut trees and are round shiny nuts from spikey green cases 🙂
I personally don't really celebrate Halloween – I don't like it, however its getting much bigger in England every year x
