Looking for something fun to do in half term with the children that isn’t outdoors? Needing weather proof plans to meet up with friends and avoid this atrocious non-stop rain?

Well the folks at @immersive.gamebox will be able to help! Immersive Gamebox offers a range of cutting edge gaming experiences in a range of UK locations including London, Manchester and Liverpool

Pit your wits against the computer and against your friends to see who will come out on top! They’ve got a range of experiences – from virtual escape rooms, Squid Game, and their new experience Box Party.

We found the booking website easy to navigate with good clear descriptions of the games. We all like escape rooms, so decided to try a virtual one. The place was easy to find, and booking in was easy. There’s lockers for your valuables so the floor can be free in the room – important when you are running around! You can order drinks to your booth which we thought was a great idea.

After some short instructions our game began. The virtual Escape Room really challenging. Sadly it ended up being two of us due to illness and we would have definitely benefitted from being a bigger group! I’m not sure we did actually finish it, but I think they ensure you “finish” so you don’t feel too embarrassed!

So what didn’t we like? I did find it hard to use the virtual set up and struggled at times – but that’s a me thing rather than the fault of the game. I’m sure with more practise I’d be fine! It was also SO HOT in the game room itself – it was February and I could have happily worn a T-shirt. Finally, I would say that I wouldn’t choose a virtual escape room again – I prefer the real thing! In hindsight, I think I might have preferred a game such as Floor is Lava. Reason to go back, I guess!

So take your friends, take your family, and have a great time – whilst staying out of the rain!
