I’m going to preface this with the fact that parking in York city centre is obscenely expensive and if you can make use of the Park and Ride services or use other forms of public transport to get into town then I would . . . however if you’re made of money, here’s a list of car parks near York Minster!
York Minster is situated in the heart of York, and several car parks are conveniently located within walking distance. I have listed the car parks by distance from the Minster but it is of course worth considering their location in terms of where you are entering the city – whilst the Monk Bar Car Park is one of the closest, it isn’t necessarily the most convenient from main routes into the city.
Distances and walking times are taken from Google Maps so do of course use your own judgement!

What about street parking near York Minster?
The chances of finding free parking within a short walk of York Minster are slim to none – there is little on-street parking in the area and what there is typically subject to parking permits.
When it comes to finding a suitable car park near York Minster, hopefully I’ve given you plenty of options here ranging from convenient but more expensive car parks to budget-friendly options. Of course the car parks listed all have limited spaces so it’s worth having a back up plan in case your first choice car park is full.
Please note that all the information in this post is correct at the time of publishing to the best of my knowledge but do check opening times and parking charges with individual car parks before you park!
