Scars. They’re part of life aren’t they? Marks on our skin forever telling a story of accidents, injuries or even operations. Little imperfections which are part of who we are.
My biggest scar is the one on my tummy where each of my three children was liberated from my womb! Beyond that my scars are mainly from childhood accidents and oddly enough mostly on my head . . . I’ll let you draw your own conclusions. The biggest of these happened when I was messing about with an enormous cardboard tube (I think it had been used for curtain material or something) – I was trying to use it like a crutch, obviously. I fell backwards and bounced my head off a concrete step – unsurprisingly that one required stitches and left a tell tale white line across the back of my head which can be seen perfectly if I wear my hair in bunches. Not a style I rock all that often at 36 thankfully.
I sustained another bump to the head at school – I think I must have been about 9 and I had been allowed to stay in at lunch time to practise recorder in the library. The library had a curtain across and the other girl I was with wouldn’t let me out to go to the toilet. I attempted to crawl out under the curtain instead, straight into the corner of one of those massive old radiators – butterfly stitches to the forehead thanks very much.
Picking up knocks, bumps and scrapes is just part of growing up isn’t it? Be it falling out of bed (Amy managed to break her arm doing that last year), from a tree or off your bike . . . we can protect our children to a point but some stuff they’re just going to have to experience. A perfect example of this getting kicked by someone on a swing . . . how on earth do you teach kids the danger of walking past swings? I swear the only way they will learn is when the inevitable happens and they take a boot to the face as I did when I was about 6 and walked in front of the swings without a care in the world! Unsurprisingly I never did it again. Sometimes you just have to learn the lesson for yourself don’t you?
Dave, in true boy fashion, spent much of his youth jumping and climbing and has broken more bones than he cares to count, some of the more than once. I think we were both surprised that it was Amy who was the first to undergo an x-ray rather than Ben who seems to be following in his father’s footsteps when it comes to a penchant for climbing trees! So far, Ben’s only real scar is one on his head (spot a theme?) which he sustained when he fell at my parent’s house and hit is face on the corner of the skirting board. Looking back he probably should have had a quick trip to A&E and some glue for that one but it stopped bleeding reasonably quickly from memory. His scar is quite obvious when he has a fresh hair cut but otherwise you wouldn’t know it was there.
Amy, after face planting the pavement back in the Autumn and then persistently picking and scratching at the scab whilst sucking her thumb for months on end, has a scar right on the end of her nose which is particularly obvious when she’s cold and makes her look like Rudolph.
Surprisingly, despite being the clumsiest of all three children and spending most of the summer months with grazed knees (in part due to an obsession with wearing dresses) Chloe doesn’t really have any scars to speak of. She is, however, the reason I carry around a stock of plasters and antiseptic, pain relieving cream at all times! Germolene Antiseptic Cream can be used to ease pain and help prevent infections of minor cuts and grazes and at just £1.79 for a 30g tube it’s ideal for keeping in my changing bag along with some plasters and paracetamol sachets. Always Read the Label.
Now I’ve shared some of our scar stories, I want to hear yours!

I have so many scars. I have one under my chin from falling down concrete steps on a ride on as a small child, one under my eyebrow from something similar and I'm sure I have more that I can't think of right now! x
Ooh a chin scar! I bet that's a fairly common one too!
I've a scar just above my left eye from falling down an escalator when I was 7 in our local shopping centre. At the time I also had stripey wounds on my legs reflecting the the pattern of the escalator step, seven year old me thought these were fab and was quite sad when they healed! I'm still a fan of stripes now but rather glad that I don't have stripey scars!
I have a lot of scars from when I had really bad eczema when younger. I also have a scar on my finger when my sister was climbing up ladder on bunk bed then slipped and fell on my hand
i have a scar on my elbow after a opperation that got infected and the wound did not heal straight away and left a nasty scar
I have a scar over my eye, when I was 15 I banged on a glass door (with a crack in it) too hard and it smashed, cutting my face open above my eye, had to go to casualty and have stitches.
I have a scar going down my left leg, about 7 inches long, from climbing over a fence and getting it caught on a nail, I must have been about 10 but will never forget it x
I had no scars until I got pregnant and had my daughter, now i'm covered in scars from the delivery. I call them war wounds!
getting chased up a slide by a dog when i was a child and falling up and having to have stitches in knee and leaving a scar
i have a scar above my eye where i fell when i was about 6
Ashleigh
I have a long scar down my arm where I was hit by a car and sustained mostly head trauma, but a cut on my arm was the only physical damage.
i reember running home with my friend so excited as i wanted to ask my mum (think i was about 10) if i could go to the school disco the next day. Knocking on the back door & i pushed to open it as it always stuck & put my arm right through the big glass pane 🙁 Trip to a & e! They tried putting several butterfly sutures in but these didn't hold it s back for 8 normal sutures. In the end it has left a big scar, they offered plastic surgery because they messed up but i didn't want to go through that at 10. still went to my school disco though with a massive bandage haha
one on the side of my head – pushed in a sopping trolley which tipped over and I used my head as a brake
It was the day of the Royal Wedding – William & Kate were getting married. I was trying to do an amazing stunt on my pink scooter and I went over the handle bars and grazed my knee really badly. The scar is still there – 5 years on! (Yasmin Philip – 11)
Knee due to my big brother convincing me that I should pull my brakes extra hard whilst biking down a steep hill. I ended up in a pile of gravel after going over the handlbars!
As a child I used to like sliding down the stairs on a tray, even though I was told may times to stop, the final time I went too fast and ended up going through the glass door at the bottom of the stairs.
I have a scar under my chin from when I had to have an absess drained as a child
I have a few scars, mostly from childhood although one is from my teens and ended in a tattoo parlour! I have one on my top lip from riding a bike that folded up as I was riding it… the handle bars folded and sort of twisted, I went over the top and bounced along the road on my lip! Ouch. I wouldn't go to school for two days as it looked stupid and was very sore. I have a little scar on the side of my head after running into the corner of a brick wall, too busy chasing my sister!
I have a scar on my bottom from being bitten by a three legged dog when we were playing on our go cart
It took a chunk out and now I just call it an extra dimple
Many more scars -must love collecting them xxx
I have a scar on the side of my head from when I fell of a bike. Yes but this was my brother's bike that had no wheels on it so his mates as a joke put in his bed. He slept on the top bunk! I climbed on the bike and fell off and landed on the floor and clobbered my melon. Brother checked me out andhave a cute scar onthe side of my head about 2 inches long.
nice post
i have a scar on my forehead as a gift from my younger brother. we were playing pogs and he brought out his bad boys slammer. it was metal with spikes around it. he threw it down and it bounced up and lodged into my head. it looks more like a dent than a scar , but there was blood at the time haha
I have a scar on my face from skidding along the playground at primary school, it was so scary.
I had an heart operation when I was just 18 months old and now have a big scar running down the length of my chest. I couldn't imagine life without it though. It saved my life!
i have a scar under my chin from hen i was a girl and i lifted a barb wire fence for my friend to climb under, but i slipped and the barb wire cut my neck, 70 stitches later lol
Demonstrat to me somebody with quality of character, and I will demonstrat to you somebody who has struggled the chances, who has been pummeled, and somebody who has declined to surrender. I will demonstrat to you somebody who is conferred, committed, and is unified with persistence. No, there are not a lot of individuals such as that in our reality, we live in an ocean of average quality, however that doesn't mean you need to succumb to such societal patterns.
I have a scar on my arm from a burn, I took the lid off a saucepan and the steam hit my skin in a oval shape – it hurt like hell, but left an impressive scar, but has faded quite a lot now
I have two scars – both resulting from child birth! one is from a c section, and the other is in a rather tender place having had a 4th degree tear (ouch!!) oh and i have a tiny scar on my stomach from my cat!
I got scar from hair line fracture above my right eyebrow. From slipping and falling on toilet when i arrived on holiday, when i was 5. I spent evening in hospital and spent rest of holiday feeling flushed.,
I have got a scar on my knee. I would have been about 9 or 10 and I was running with my friend to the park, I fell and got a big cut on the knee and it had loads of little stones in it. we went back to my friends house and her mum cleaned it up for me and gave me some painkillers.
I have a small scar on my chin from falling head first over the handlebars of my bike. I was going downhill too fast in the rain and when I tried to stop I fell off.
I have a scar that is a reminder of the best thing that has ever happen to me. Even if I had all the money in the world and was able to remove it, I would never do it. 3 years ago when I was having my little boy I ended up having complications that let to an emergency c-section. I am left with a 20cm long scar that is simply, part of me.
I have a scar right above my eyebrow from when I was 6. My Mum rang an after school club and I used to go along. On one occasion I was running in the main hall pastthe table tennis tables. I was hit in the head with a bat and split my head open
I have a scar on my belly from two operations and one on my arm when a shelving unit fell on my arm when out shopping for baby clothes I passed out in the shop so embarrassing. Xxx
I have a huge scar down my right shin. I fell backwards down an uncovered manhole down a train station as a teenager. I didnt get it checked out as I was scared to tell my mum as I had been drinking diamond white and a 'friend' had uncovered the manhole….kids eh!
i have a big scar on my right thigh from being bitten by a dog when i was younger
Most of my scars are a bit boring, hot glue gun accident when I was in year 8 at school, burning my wrist on the bars in the oven while cooking pizza. My best scar is about *so* long and runs across part of my abdomen. It's the scar that shows how Jaxon came into the world. The little boy decided he was so excited to meet the world that he was coming feet first and so I had to have a C-Section. When he came out he was nearly 10lbs and his head was so big it was off the newborn scale and he had to be taken for an ultrasound of his head to make sure that there wasn't anything wrong with his head. He came back with ultrasound gel in his hair and his hair was spiked up in a mohican! Trust daddy to do that! So that's my scar story…
I have a scar on my thumb from opening a can of corned beef.
I'm scarless…so far!
I have a scar on my left elbow which is from a trench I had as a 10 year old girl when having an accident near the local park. I rememer the day well because it was the first time I had hurt myself and managed not to cry!
I have a scar on the top of my leg. I`m a bit (well maybe a lot of a hoarder :O ) and in my old house used to have everything up in the loft when i was up there one day I put my leg right through the floor and my leg was stuck on a large rusty nail hence the scar 🙁 … Still a hoarder though lol ……
When I was a toddler, my mum had mopped the floor, I decided it would be fun to slide across hence cutting my head open on a corner then rushed to the hospital to have stitches, I always remember when they were doing the stitches a person was dressed as Mr Bump who was visiting all the children and he came to see me
I have a scar on my head from where my sister pushed me over on to a radiator and split my head open – leanne w
I fell on a screw that went through my leg and now have a scar from the removal.
i cartwheeled into a brick archway as a child and have a permanent reminder in the middle of my forehead!
My knees were always covered in scabs throughout primary school so I have scars to show for that! I was always falling over! My more recent ones are a line on my neck and a cross on my thigh from having moles removed. The thigh one looks a bit odd because of the shape but I'd rather have the scars than the moles that were bothering me!
I fell off the slide when I was little, cut my thigh with glass that was at the bottom! My mum was so hysterical!
Apart from operations, the only scar I have is on my toe from when I injured it as a child.
Playing blind man's bluff when i was 10 and i walked straight into a parked lorry and split my forhead open, Was not the aim of the game but ended up with stitches and now i rock a very large scar across my head! Ooops
I have a scar under my chin where I fainted and fell onto my kitchen floor breaking my daughters high chair as I fell. The crashing woke the whole family but a trip to A & E sorted me out, the high chair however did not recover!
i was 7 and got hit on the bridge of nose by a flying stone and have a scar right across it now , the next day at school we had our photos taken , and in it i have a big brown Vlasic plaster stuck right over my nose , it looks terribe
I fell over playing bulldog (I don't even remember the rules!) at school with my friends and badly cut my knee, still a circle scar there now. I remember walking around with a limp for ages at school, the things you do to get sympathy when your a child!
I have a large oval shaped scar on my left calf from leaning on a motorbike exhaust that some bloke that I thought was the best thing since sliced bread at the time had been riding up and down the country lane near the scout hut at well over the speed limit. Thankfully I have grown up a bit since then!!
I was bouncing on my parent's bed around age 3 and fell and bashed my head. I have a scar from that just above my right eye but it's only really noticeable when I frown. 😉
When I was 5, we were staying at my grandparents house over Easter. My older sister asked for a cup of coffee and because I was at an age where I wanted to do everything she did, I asked for one too! My grandad, clearly not thinking straight, made me a cup of coffee with boiling hot milk as well as water. I picked it up and dropped it down myself…two weeks in a burns hospital, a skin graft operation and 23 yrs later and I have a lovely big scar all the way down my left arm! Whoops!
I have a scar on my leg from when my dog jumped off my lap and her back claw cut me.
I have a scar above my eye which I got after hitting the corner of a coffee table whilst running across the lounge as a kid to get sweets! That'll teach me!
I have a scar on my tummy, when I scraped it on a hot radiator! A scar under my chin, when I was 2 I was sat on a chair eating pizza, rocking backwards and forwards and it fell back wards and my fork dug into my chin, I also have one longer thumb nail than the other where I got it caught in the front door and my sister tried pulling my hand out and stretched it! But my favourite has got to be my c-section scar from where I birthed my beautiful baby girl =)
I have a double chin scar – I fell down the stairs and my Mum's clothing airer at the bottom in the hallway stuck in my chin and then I fell off my bike and cut my chin open again!
I have a white square scar on my forehead from when I was 2 and my older sister was pushing me so high that I fell out. I had to go to hospital and she was in so much trouble!
I got a scar on my inner wrist when I fell out of a tree aged 6 and cut it on a broken bottle.
I have a scar above my eye where apparently my sister when I was little pushed me off a chair! I'm 44 now and just about forgiven her lol 😉
When I was about 9 I was playing tag with friends in our street. Whilst running away and being chased I looked back to see where my pursuer was. As I turned back I collided with a lamp post resulting in a bloody nose and a cut to my forehead. I needed a few stitches but the scar healed well and is barely visible
A horse shoe stud scar on my leg from a horse knocking me over as I was getting him in from the field
I threw a stick into a tree to try to knock down a chestnut but the stone came down and smacked me on the forehead leaving a large cut. It isn;t too visible unless I have a sun tan
I have a scar on my palm where I fell over on wet decking and sliced my hand on a broken flower pot.
A scar on my face from falling of a ladder and my glasses broke and the glass cut above my eye
I have one on my kneecap which happened as a kid when I was running and caught it on a nail sticking out of the door frame, it was very painful!
I have one on my wrist from burning in the oven. It was deep enough that it burned through many layers 🙁
I have a raggedy 2 inch scar on my knee from when I was a kid, using a rusty nail that had been hammered into a wall to climb said wall and of course my foot slipped. Ouch! Needless to say, I've always taught my own children to mind what they use to climb – and take care when climbing!
I have a scar on my forehead which is from firstly twirling round and round falling into some iron railings when I was 5, and then when I was 14, diving into the shallow end of swimming pool.
I have a scar on my hand a big slice down the side and one under my thumb all on the same hand with lots of little scars too
this is from when i was little sliding down a sheet of glass thinking it was a slide but ultimately braking it and falling through and smashing the glass with lots ending up in my hand! ouch!! other than that i didn’t have many scars until a hernia surgery on my stomach last year – after the surgery i passed out and fell smashing my face so i have a delightful V on my top lip where my teeth into my face from the fall! like a permanent reminder of it all! i cant hide it either 🙁 x
I have a scar running from my left side going right across my stomach. This was following my breast surgery for breast cancer. It doesn't bother me at all as I am just happy still to be here. My daughter has seen my scar and she likes to count how long it takes to walk her fingers over it.
I have all sorts of scars. All the knuckles on my left hand are scarred from coming off a tandem on my Land's end to John O'Groats adventure. I also have a little scar on my chin from the same trip. I have a little scar on my neck from a growth that was operated on when I was about 3. I don't mind my scars to be honest, they are part of who I am.
Scars on my face from being very clever walking along a brick wall from where I fell smashing my chin, my nose and the side of my face- teeth getting embedded in my lips as I crashed.
I have three – one for my c section for my wonderful little boy, and one under each boob from my boob job!
I have a scar on my knee from when I was 5 years old and fell onto some glass at school
BEWARE IF SQUEAMISH! When I was about 7, I heard the ice cream van coming and ran down my very steep back street as quickly as I could. Unfortunately, I tripped and fell….my nose landed in dog pooh! My Mum was almost sick cleaning me up and I was too late for the ice cream van! luckily the scar on my nose has faded 🙂
My scar is on my forehead – I remember when I was little using a tennis racket as a catapult. Balancing this on a brick, put a small stone on it and stamping on the handle – as you can probably imagine, one hit me, and fortunately hit me on the eyebrow and not the eye.
My own best scar is on my knee and i'm actually really proud of it as it was from doing a big bmx jump back in the days when not too many girls rode bmx bikes to do stunts and jumps. My little girl has a scar on her forehead from when she slipped trying to reach her toy olaf and got a huge gash to the forehead just before we were going away to paris last year. She needed a trip to A&E in the ambulance after having spent that very morning in hospital for an unrelated bone scan – poor thing! She still has the scar but thankfully doesn't show too much. If you look closely at the photos in our Paris 2015 blogpost you can see the butterfly stitches on her forehead in those photos.
I've got part of my primary school playground in my knee. I scraped my knee and my teacher didn't want to hurt me when she cleaned it out so I've still got a line of tarmac from 40 years ago.
I have a line on my leg from primary school, because I refused to have it cleaned,by kicking and screaming,it is a dark scar.
I have a good few scars but I'm going to mention the smaller one that I have on the knuckle (the middle join on my finger??) On the first finger on my left hand.
So…..it's about 1999 and I'm upstairs in my bedroom before school and the cat (again) has attacked my miscellaneous box on my desk and tipped it all out….including the cassette tape (it was 1999 in my defence) with the top 40 on from the night before and somehow had managed to unwind a whole bunch of it!!
A quick wind back up was needed as my school bus was due so I glanced round for something…my pencil case was downstairs and I was lazy (and rather evidently now…stupid!) and I seen the knife I had brought up to cut my toast as I was dressing and eating at the same time to save time! It was only a 'butter knife' and so I thought it would easily work ?
Work it did! Then that darned cat came in….I turned round fast to see what mischief it was planning…the knife slipped and cut into my right knuckle…I couldn't see much for the blood but swore to myself I could see bone!! I went down the stairs and tried to explain to Mum….who seemed to think it was a ruse to get out of school….she shoved my blazer and school bag into one hand….the sore one…I cried! And a plaster in the other, pushed me out the door and closed it behind me!!!!
To avoid getting blood on my new Ben Sherman (1999!!!!) I put the plaster on and went to school…about half an hour in that plaster was soaked with blood….my head of year sent me to the local A&E with another teacher…..4 stitches later my Mum felt sorry for me and I had my first battle scar ???
I have a scar above my lip from when I flew over the handle bars of my bike! Really hurt at the time
I have a huge scar on my right knee from a stick getting caught in my bike spokes as a child. I flipped over and tore it up. Then I had to walk my bike home with blood flowing down my leg.
The Morning of my sisters wedding (aged 10) I was bored out of my mind whilst the adults did hair and makeup so I went for a bike ride except had an epic fall onto a gravel road and had to have the gravel removed from my knees, absolutely covered in blood I was bandaged up all around my knees. So wore a beautiful bridesmaid dress with shocking bandages, thankfully hidden beneath! Have loads of scars on my knees always to remember my sisters wedding day!
I only have one scar and that was caused when I was doing sheet metal work at college and a piece of metal slipped onto my thumb. The technician though almost fainted when I went to ask for a plaster with the amount of blood there was.
I was about ten and staying with an old neighbour, she asked me to post a letter which I did running all the way to show how good I was. At the last hurdle I tripped in front of the box and with blood pouring out of a cut under my nose I posted the letter. On returning the first thing she said on looking at my bloody dress and nose was, 'Did you post the letter'. I still have that scar under my nose to prove I can deliver letters no matter what is thrown at me.
I have a kind of harry potter scar on my forehead, where i cracked my head open 3 times as a child, making a Z shape. Once i fell down stairs, once a boy fell off his bike and his mudguard hit my face and another time i fell over in the school playground, all in the same part of my forehead
I have a scar on my left leg from when I was 9 years old. I decided to run really fast across a heavily polished floor and my leg caught the corner of a wooden cabinet. I got a chunk of wood in my leg. Not nice.
I Have a few scars but my faverouite one is on my elbow from a piggy back ride when i was 9 haha.
I have a scar behind my left ear, climbed a tree and slid down it when I was a child. There was a nail sticking out and it with the help of gravity gave me the scar.
I have a scar on my hand from a fall, as a child. I fell walking home on return from school. On arriving home I showed my Mum. She took me to hospital where they applied butterfly stitches.

I have a silvery scar on my left index finger where I sliced the side of the finger with a surgical scalpel I was using to cut card. It would NOT stop bleeding and turned my housemates quite green. I also have a caesarean scar that was quite neat until it was reopened for subsequent abdominal surgery. It's not quite as neat as it was but the surgeon did a very good job of minimising the carring overall.
I have an operation scar from having my appendix removed. As it was rupturing it was an emergency procedure so it is not the neatest of scars, but on the bright side I am still here to admire it :0)
My best Scar is on my knee which I got from falling off my bike when I was 6 and I still have it 16 years later
was in woodwork class in schooli was chilesing the chisel fell out my hand and cut in my leg and now have a lovely scar
I have three scars. Two are from pacemaker operations and the third is on my little finger. I had to have stitches when I was younger. My mom used to manage a pub and me and my brother were playing in the ballroom. We wasn't supposed to drink anything fizzy, we had squash. However I decided we were going to have some fizzy pop, so I jumped on the bar counter, leant over and poured us some coke! Someone was coming so I jumped off the bar, accidentally knocking the glasses of coke on the floor. In my haste to clean up the smashed glasses I picked the glass up with my hands, causing a trip to A&E and ending up with stitches!
I have one scar on my lip. caused by a crazy version of hide and seek (in the dark with one person blindfolded) My brother went to tag me with a hoover part and mistimed me and whacked me in my face. We had to pretend it was caused by me falling over, or else my parents would’ve killed us! Had 12 stitches 😀
I have a deep scar on my right shin. Chasing my eldest son when he was about 6, trying to get him in ready for bed. Slipped, fell and large stone stuck in my leg! Horrible!
I have a scar on my forehead – obtained when I was a toddler. My family allege that I rocked myself backwards and forwards in my push chair until it tipped over and I smacked my head on a brick – however my brother was in the area and always looks suspicious when I mention it 😉
My scar story involves our little girl….whilst playing in an outside playground with her friends she ran off the edge of the pavement and didn’t realise it was a pavement as it was covered in leaves. She it the ground and skidded face first across the concrete. Within seconds we thought her nose was broke and rushed her to A & E. They were fantastic and reassured us it wasn’t as the bones are still soft in the nose until children are around 10 years old (she was 8 at the time)… She did have a nasty cut at the top of her nose and a badly busted lip so the nurse glued the cut on her nose…. To this day she has a tiny scar where they had to glue it. Very scary at the time but the injury looked far worse than it actually was!!
I have a scar on my right leg – about an inch long. I got it when I was 3 after kneeling on a freshly installed carpet(!) about a week before we were going on holiday to Tenerife. Spent (apparently) the whole holiday being chased around by my parents who were trying to keep me away from water and sand!
I have a scar on my hand! I was cleaning a glass when it smashed with the heat but I still did the twist movement!
Scar on myhand from having external framework pinned in place to keep broken wrist in position form a snowboarding accident
I have a scar in the shape of a j on my hand! I was roughly 8, and me and my sister started a water fight with the next door neighbours kids, they started throwing plastic bottles and we only had little beakers, so we grabbed pint glasses from the table in the garden and started filling from the outside tap, the kids clocked on and tried grabbing the glass out my hand and it shattered! Needed a whole 6stitches! I thought it was the end of the world! Never play with glass kids!!!
@jhill1105
I have a scar on my knee as when I was young I kneeled on a seashell when I was in the water and it cut me
I have a small scar under my chin from tripping and banging it on the stairs as a teen. My hubby has a scar that runs from the top of his thigh to his knee because when hew was a few months old his big sister rolled him into the fire… no joke! Kids have a couple of the usual scars from falling but they're fading =D
i have a scar above my top lip under my nose where my childhood crush pushed me off my bike!! he asked me out the next day told him to get lost!!
I have a huge scar on my leg, not just a scar but a great big dent too. I had a hip replacement and was so shocked to see the scar I cried! Bit silly really. Kids ask but I love their honesty and never mind them asking how did I do that?
I have a scar on my leg. I was about 10 years old wearing my favourite dress walking along a brick wall. My foot slipped, and I slipped off the wall cutting open my inside thigh. I was more concerned with ripping my dress than the blood gushing down my leg, and I still have the scar today!
I have a long scar across my throat, from an operation I had when I was a toddler. It's faded now, but when I was at school, it got a lot of attention!
I have a scar on my knee, when I was about 5 we went out walking the dog – I nagged and nagged to hold the lead next thing I was being pulled down the road by the dog 🙁
i have a scar under my chin, the first time, i ran into the school hall and went falling on my chin, cutting it all open, then a few years later i went over the handles of a bike with the same scar spliting again 🙁
my son, when he was a toddler, fell over on some stepping stones over a pond. blood everywhere. luckily a nurse was walking past and we got help. he needed a lot of stitches though, and now has a harry potter scar on his forehead!
I have a scar behind my knee. I fell off a swimming pool wall when I was younger.
I have a scar on my face after a bike accident.
My brother has a big scar at the back of his head, its about 10cm long, he was 4, I was 6, there was a golf club involved, he's never let me live it down.
I've got a Harry Potter style scar after slipping in the bathroom and knocking myself out on a tiled corner unit. I needed 17 stitches ! and had massive black eyes
Forehead scar not looking where I was going like any eight year old and walked in to a pillar
I have a scar on my shin – which is actually a small hole, which I got when I was 11 playing kiss chase at school! I tripped and fell over on a piece of metal and when I got up every time I bent my leg blood spurted out.

I have a scar on the right hand crease of my nose and my left cheek, when I was 5 I was walking past a dog, the owners couldn't train the dog and so left him tied to a gate, as I walked past the dog took a chunk out of my face, I don't blame the dog though, just poor training and don't have a fear of dogs to this date. I had to eat through a straw for over a week x

When I was much younger my friend had a pet rat. It was really sweet and she took it out to let me hold it, at this point the rat opened its mouth and bit me on the hand. I still have a scar on my hand and my kids think it's weird that a rat bit it.
I have a scar on my left hand, middle finger from where my big sister shut the bathroom room on my fingers when I was younger. Gave my mum a real fright as I had to be rushed to A and E for stitches x
Unfortunately my mum always wrapped me up in cotton wool and I never did anything too adventurous so my only scar is on my forehead and is a reminder of the chicken pox I had when I was younger. My own son, however, has his own forehead scar a result of his father putting his older sister in his pushchair with my son sitting on her knee not strapped in and then bumping into a kerb! Needless to say my son fell foreword and crashed to the ground!!
Using my walking poles for the first time I slid down the scree near Chamonix and ripped the skin form my arm – hubby had to do some prompt first aid to stop the bleeding and its a constant remonder of what was generally a good holiday!

Right in the middle of my forehead , have a scar from when my Auntie was holding 1 ond of the wooden handling skipping rope whilst the other side was tied to the drainpipe … I was jumping over as she turned it for me but stood on the rope accidently and she let go, donging me on the head with her end of the ruddy rope!
Happy days – when kids actually PLAYED REAL THINGS aha x

My son who was 3 at the time was hugging his little sister who was 2 in the door frame and they toppled over him on top, I just heard this almighty screaming and thought my daughter had cracked her head against the door frame but when my son got up his forehead was dripping with blood and he’d banged it on the door frame splitting it open, we had to get it glued back together and he still has a scar there, he gets called Harry Potter now!!
I have a couple of scars behind my knee from a Jack Russell who bit me and would t let go when I was 6!
As a child I was very much into horses and ponies… horse riding was my favourite hobby. One day when I was 6, there was a new horse at the stables. I asked one of the older girls to pick me up to see over the stable door at the new pony. Unfortunately, he charged at me and bit me on the face pretty badly. I needed emergency reconstructive surgery and thankfully although I have a scar, it is now difficult to notice. Although it was definitely the end to horse riding for fun!
