I had awful skin as a teen but luckily Mum was really on the ball and got me to the GP fairly sharpish where I had an initial course of antibiotics before being put on the pill at 14 which made a dramatic difference and I stayed on it for years.  Bar pregnancy related hormonal breakouts my skin has been fairly well behaved throughout my adulthood  . . . until now.  For three or four months I had awful spots in a cluster on my left cheek.  What’s worse is, aside from them being huge, painful and unsightly, they’re scarring too.  Obviously this was something I needed to get on top of sharpish.  When I saw my friend Emma trying out some new GLAMGLOW face masks I decided to jump on that bandwagon!

Aside from the unfortunate outbreaks I’ve suffered at late, my skin is starting to show some signs of ageing (well I am 37 after all) – there’s some fine lines and it can be a bit lack lustre – how I wish I’d realised how lovely my skin was in my 20s!  So I decided to give two masks ago –  GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD and GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD.  The SUPERMUD claims to help fight common skin concerns leaving super clear, super poreless-looking skin whilst the THIRSTMUD works to provide deep instant hydration.  Surely this had to be a winning combination?

Now you might have seen that there’s a bit of a trend for “multi-masking” at the moment which basically means treating different bits of your face with different masks according to your specific skin concerns.  SUPERMUD is ideal for this as you can use it as a bit of a spot treatment in problem areas but I must admit I’ve been using it all over my face and following it up with the THIRSTYMUD which so far is working really well for me.

Now, it’s not been two months since I started using this combination of GLAMGLOW products and guess what?  I’ve not had an outbreak . . . there’s no new ugly scars.  Perhaps it’s coincidence but hell I’m going to keep on using it!

  1. Ooh I love the sound of these. Your skin looks amazing. I use a clay cleanser but haven’t done a mask for years I must try some x

  2. I am currently on antibiotics for my skin, at nearly 35 I didn’t think i’d still be getting spots the way I do, with cystic acne it is painful as well as scarring my face. I hadn’t heard of multi-masking but may have to have a look at it and the glamglow products.

    • I must admit I’ve been considering going to the GP to see if they can treat these breakouts. I hope your skin settles soon x

  3. I think I need to do a face mask soon, my skin is ridiculously dry and moisturisers aren’t helping at all. Maybe a face mask detox will help?! Annoyingly I get dry flaky skin (yummy) but still get breakouts .. probably from all the excess moisturiser ha!
