Growing our own with Heinz

This isn’t the first time I’ve used this photo on my blog however there really isn’t a more appropriate image to use for this post!  This photo of me with my Grandad and his tomatoes is immensely precious to me and really embodies my strongest memories of him.  Just looking at it and I can smell that warm, sweet scent of the fresh tomatoes growing in his greenhouse.

Fast forward 30 or so years and my own little girl is obsessed with ‘matoes and she was thrilled to discover the immense pleasure of picking them fresh from the vine at Granny and Grandad’s house last Summer – Granny had a fight on her hands to get any back into the house as Chloe was eating them as fast as she could pick them!

When Heinz got in touch to tell me about their new “Grow Your Own” campaign there really wasn’t any doubt in my mind that we should take part!  The campaign launched on Facebook recently offers Heniz Tomato Ketchup fans the opportunity to win their own tomato seeds and even some Heinz Tomato Ketchup gardening equipment.

You can watch the Heinz Tomato story for yourself:

As you can imagine Chloe, who is a fan of Heinz Tomato Ketchup and ‘matoes alike, is thrilled about the prospect of growing her own tomatoes just like Grandad Joe and she can’t wait to get started!

I’ll let you know how we get on!

*Disclaimer – We have been sent a selection of Heniz Tomato Ketchup gardening goodies along wtih some tomato seeds free of charge to set us off on our tomato growing journey.  As ever all thoughts and opinions remain our own*

This looks like such a lovely campaign. We grow so much in the garden every year but this is the first year I'll be getting LP involved – she would love that watering can! x
