I do love a good handprint craft – they’re so easy to do with the kids and always really effective! Last year we made a handprint Christmas tree . . . and it was really easy to do!
How to make a hand print Christmas tree
1. Make LOTS of green hand prints & leave them to dry (we used green poster paint this time). Make sure you’ve got a damp facecloth to hand ready to clean up those painted hands as you don’t want green paint anywhere else in your house!
2. Add “decorations” – we used finger prints to add baubles on the end of the “fingers”, star stickers and glitter glue for tinsel
3. Let Mummy cut out all the hand prints
4. Laminate the hand prints so your handprint Christmas tree will really last! (This is of course optional but I do love the laminator and it’s so lovely to be able to get your child’s Christmas crafts out year after year)
5. Arrange all the hand prints into a Christmas tree shape and glue them in place (we used Power Pritt as laminated paper doesn’t always glue well – I don’t think Power Pritt is available any more so you might need to hunt out an alternative!)
We have stored the tree away with the Christmas decorations ready to get out each year along with the Handprint Wreath Ben had made the year before.
