This post features gifted experiences
LC Swansea is a huge leisure centre encompassing a soft play, climbing wall, gym and Wales’ biggest indoor waterpark – which was the focus of our most recent adventure! This was our second visit and as we were leaving the kids made us promise we’ll definitely take them back if we are in the area again!
Swimming at LC Swansea
The last time we visited LC, Amy was about 14 months old – it was her first visit to a swimming pool and she absolutely hated it. Needless to say that wasn’t the case on our most recent visit during October half term! Now that our kids are older and two of them are confident swimmers, we don’t have to worry about adult to child ratios and the older two are free to go off and enjoy the water slides independently. (Do check the FAQs on the LC Swansea website to ensure you have the right ratios of adults to children for your visit.)
The LC Swansea waterpark features the Masterblaster – “the ultimate white-knuckle rollercoaster waterslide” – which had by far the biggest queues and, whilst Ben said it was absolutely the best ride, he did only get to go on it once – this was in part as it wasn’t open for the full session time. There’s also the aqua slide and aqua tube which have much quicker moving queues. The wave pool is thoroughly entertaining and the waves go off every 20 minutes so you can get plenty of chances to play and jump in the waves. We all enjoyed a float around the lazy river. Essentially you’re not going to the LC for a proper swim, this is all about playing in the water and having fun as a family!
You can book online in advance and I have to say I think the prices are really reasonable with a family ticket ticket for 2 adults and 2 children costing £25.50. Your session lasts 90 minutes and this is inclusive of changing times so try to be as close to swim ready as you can so that you have more time in the pool!

Climbing at LC Swansea
While you’re there, why not try out the 30ft Climbing Wall at LC Swansea! Each 20 minute session has a dedicated instructor who will guide you up the wall using an automatic belay system. What I would suggest is that if you’re going to do the climbing wall and go swimming, I’d book the climbing session first for when they are not so tired – they’ll get more out of it! A 20 minute climb costs £5 per person. There’s plenty of space to stand (or sit) and watch the kids as they climb.

Parking for LC Swansea
There is no parking at the LC and they recommend parking in St Davids car park which is just opposite however we found it was super busy and also very tight if you’re driving a larger family car. We ended up parking in the nearby NCP which was more expensive but easier to get parked. Do leave plenty of time to find parking so you don’t miss out on time in the waterpark – we lost a good 20 minutes of our pool time thanks to struggling to find somewhere to park nearby.
Quick tips for visiting LC Swansea
- Book online to save time
- Give yourself plenty of time to find parking
- Be there on time, if not slightly early – you don’t want to miss any of your allocated slot
- Don’t forget to check you’ve got the right ratios of adults to children
- Be as swim ready as you can when you arrive – the quicker you can get changed, the more time you’ll have to play!
- Consider wearing a one piece if you’re going on the slides! Chloe had a bikini on and was fine but I wouldn’t have wanted to risk that myself!
- Make sure you’ve got change for the lockers (you’ll need a £1 coin or trolley token)
- If you’re going to do climbing and swimming – climb first so your arms aren’t tired!
