Brogues from Lotus Shoes – Review

When I was invited to review for Lotus Shoes, I hadn’t heard of the brand before however they are a company with over 250 years of footwear experience working hard to offer a range of designs and styles to suit all tastes.  You can browse the website by colour, style, heel height, size or even price.

My most favourite shoe purchase in recent years has been a pair of wine coloured brogues – much as I do love a good heel they don’t have much place in my life at the moment so I’m all about the flats.

I love the way brogues are tidy, they are flattering on my feet but also comfortable and practical (I sound so old).

So, whilst browsing the Lotus Shoes website I went straight for the brogues!  Now I’ve mentioned previously that I find shoe shopping quite challenging, my feet are not small and they are not slim (much like the rest of me) so I usually need to find more generous styles of shoes.  In my experience brogues are generally quite a narrow fit so to try and combat that I ordered a size up (gold star to Lotus Shoes there for stocking 9s) and figured that at least for being a lace up I’d have a bit more flexibility.

I was really excited when my Cole Brown Leather Lace Up Shoes arrived and couldn’t wait to try them on.

They are a little narrow but I’m desperately hoping they give a bit because I love them! (Any tips on shoe stretching gratefully received)

I am looking forward to being able to wear one of my favourite summer maxi skirts into the Autumn with these shoes!  They’re going to be great for work or general day to day wear and having something more seasonally appropriate than my beloved Birks is always a winner!

  1. Helps a lot that they are a really lovely looking shoe too. I have no tips on stretching them out unfortunately 🙁

  2. Leather will mould to the shape of your foot so just give them time to wear in. They look lovely though!x
