Neon 87 – Review

A couple of years ago now we switched up the downstairs of house to give the kids a more grown up living room rather than a playroom. It’s a space where the can use their tablets, watch TV and play xbox (all things they can’t do upstairs in their own rooms). And, it’s also the first room anyone sees when they come to our house!

I wanted the front room (also known as “The Cheddar” – don’t ask) to be pretty cool and grown up – whilst still fitting in with the overall style of our home. In an ideal world the kids’ living room would be one which I could shut the door on and leave them to it but the layout of our house means that everyone who comes in has to walk through the front room to get anywhere else.

Once we’d put in a sofa bed, we added prints to the wall (all linked to their favourite bands) and some IKEA shelving for quirky knick-knacks and plants but I’m always on the look out for new details to add to the room to help it feel more “finished”.

The latest addition to the kids’ living room is a piece from Neon 87. The light is easily attached to the wall using the supplied velcro so there’s no need for nails, drills or screws and using a smart plug we have linked the neon light to the lighting system in the room so that we don’t need to worry about turning it on and off.
