October Half Term at Waterside Arts Centre

This October half term seems to be a bit of a funny one and I’ve noticed that ours doesn’t match up with most of the rest of the country – I keep getting invited to exciting events which are happening whilst the kids are still at school.  On the plus side thought I guess it at least means everywhere will be nice and quiet if I take them out for the day!

For those of you with a more normal half term, Waterside Arts Centre in Sale has a wonderful programme of shows for you to choose from particularly for a younger audience (I think the October half term can often be a tricky one for outdoor adventures so something cosy and dry is always appealing!)

Two shows really caught my eye:

Handa’s Surprise is a popular text in EYFS / KS1 classrooms so I would definitely be taking the girls along to see that one – perhaps a little young for Ben but he could manage seeing as how it’s only just over half an hour long – making it ideal for a first theatre trip!

What Became of the Red Shoes is a little longer at just under an hour and is aimed at audiences aged 3+ – it sounds like a magical performance filled with story telling, song and dance – just the sort of thing I know my little gang love.
