It feels like forever since we last took decent family photos or wrote a monthly family post – I keep meaning to and then being foiled by things like burst bubbles and isolation. We’ve been hit hard by this in the last few months and it feels like we are constantly having to cancel or re-arrange plans. I’m not sure how much longer this can realistically go on for – or how long actually should. To my mind, we should be isolating people who test positive and then letting close contacts do daily lateral flow tests – constantly sending children (and staff) home from school to isolate seems ridiculous at this stage. But anyway, I’m not the one making the decisions am I so we carry on . . .
June brought with it blazing sunshine and freedom! The kids went for their first sleepover at Nana’s in ages over the bank holiday weekend which allowed Dave and I a couple of glorious nights in Leeds with Team Fox sending May out with a bang and welcoming June with a smile! June has seen lots of lunch dates, some long walks and plenty of catch ups with friends. Dave and have managed to take some time off together and had a couple of lovely days out. Unfortunately over the course of the month we’ve also had two isolating children and party we had been really looking forward to cancelled by Bozza postponing “freedom day” – but it is what it is.
Life is getting easier again in many ways and we are very much looking forward to the summer holidays – though I still feel super nervous making plans as we have had our fingers burned far too many times over the last 18 months! By the time I write our next family update, we will have had several birthdays to celebrate so here’s hoping that all goes to plan!
