This Saturday (22nd October) McDonalds restaurants throughout the UK will be hosting a special fundraising day for the charity Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
McDonald’s restaurants will be selling four new wild animal soft toys costing £2.50 each and available from the Kiosk, front counter and Drive-thru window – the best bit being that 100% of proceeds will go the RMHC. Last year McDonald’s raised £3.9m raised in-store and via the donations box!
You are probably aware of the charity boxes on the till points in McDonalds but how much do you actually know about what they money is for? The Ronald McDonald House Charities help to keep families together and close to their children in hospital, by providing invaluable free accommodation and support.
Many families have to travel long distances so that their children can get the specialist or intensive care they need. Families who are looked after by RMHC can stay in the houses completely free of charge, for as long as they need.
There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses in the UK and the charity desperately needs fundraising support to contribute towards the funds needed over the next few years to open four new Houses across the UK. The charity has been helping families for over 25 years; providing free family accommodation at NHS hospitals.
So if you’re near McDonalds this weekend, pop in and show your support – you just can’t imagine what a difference you could be making to a family with a poorly child.
