She said Mummy!!! (and other things too!)

Last Updated on 2 July 2018 by Colette

This morning I was woken up by the best sound ever, by my little girl shouting “Mummy” from her cot!  It’s just as an amazing feeling third time round as it was the first time.  I couldn’t quite believe my ears and desperately wanted her to say it again so I knew it hadn’t been an accident!  It took her a while but she’s said it quite a few times today – the most heartbreaking was when I was walking out of the room to go upstairs and she shouted after me “Mummy!”  I felt so guilty walking away from her!  I think that’s going to be a common theme with Amy as she’s a right Mummy’s girl at the moment.

Mummy wasn’t her only new word today!  I was talking to Dave about some shoes and heard Amy repeat the word “shoes” whilst crawling off towards a pile of shoes in the room!  There was no fluke there.  She repeated it a couple of times during the morning as well.

I’m also convinced that she attempted to say “Gorgeous” when I had done her hair – this is something Chloe says every morning when she’s had her hair brushed and I say to her “How do you look?” so Amy must be picking that up from her!
She’s soaking up words all over the place and working hard on her walking too!  Busy times for Bo!

  1. I will always remember the early days of my children saying mummy. They sound even more cute. Cherish it 😀

  2. Well done Amy! Shoes was one of my termites first words too, and still a favourite. I wonder if they take after their mummy's….

  3. It all happens so fast! Little Man is such a chatterbox now, saying everything! She is so gorgeous and definitely looks like a Mummy's girl 🙂 x

    • I'm surprised she's picking up words at the same time as mastering walking – I'm used to it being one or the other.

  4. That is a great moment 🙂 Little F started saying ma-ma, when we were on holidays a couple of weeks ago and it certainly made it a memorable holiday for me!
