Last week Ben came home from school with a paper plate . . . turns out the whole school took a paper plate home with the expectation that they would decorate it with a “Spring theme”. Â I talked to Ben about it and made a few suggestions for this spring craft – lambs, daffodils, chicks, bunnies – all the usual cliched stuff! Â He wasn’t particularly keen on any of my ideas but then couldn’t suggest anything else either! Â I did a bit of googling to show him some different examples and eventually he agreed we could make daffodils.
So this is what we did . . .
1. Used wax crayons to make grass and the sky

2. Sponge painted the bits of egg box (I had pre-cut these for ease & we only sponge painted because we couldn’t find a paint brush but I actually quite liked the effect in the end!)
4. Stuck colored lollipop sticks onto the plate using hot glue – (For safety Ben laid them out where he wanted them and I stuck them down)
