Happy 4th Birthday to our clever, funny and extremely loving & thoughtful little man!
Ben has been studiously counting down to his 4th birthday since sometime around Christmas – he has enjoyed the stages of being “3 and a half”, “3 and three quarters”, “I’m not 3 and three quarters any more, I’m nearly 4” and finally, finally today being able to say “I’m 4 now!”
We had set Ben’s presents out on the sofa and Daddy had made up a small section of train track on the living room floor with the big box containing the rest of it behind it. He was SO excited to get his train track and couldn’t resist playing with it immediately 🙂Â
Ben’s friends came round for his party at 1pm and he was thrilled to see everyone and open more gifts! He was especially pleased with his present from his best friend Finley – they now have matching helicopters (I honestly think Ben would have been happy to send everyone home straight away so that he could play with his new toy) We played a pirate themed “pin the tail on the donkey” style game which we’d bought from Morrisons, each child was blindfolded in turn and had to stick their treasure chest on the map – the person who got closest to the “X” was the winner (Mia in this case), we did a treasure hunt – collecting gold coins that had been hidden around the room and then exchanging them for ‘pirate treasure’ (‘pearls’ – more commonly known as bouncy balls from Tesco!) and then the obligatory pass the parcel. All the children joined in really well with the games taking turns etc.
For lunch we had pizza and smiley faces, followed by smartie ice cream cones – this all went down a storm!
Ben had a great day and told us it was “The best birthday ever”Â
