Last year Ben and Chloe didn’t want to go to a bonfire, so this year we didn’t really make any plans to. I didn’t think they’d want to go. More fool me. Unfortunately they both announced that they quite fancied going to a bonfire a bit too late for me to arrange anything. I did have a quick look around for a local organised event but we had missed one and the other was a bit too big for my liking – and also far too late on a school night.
In the end we made do with some sparklers in the back garden and a promise of a proper organised bonfire next year when Amy is a bit bigger and everyone can cope a bit better with staying up late!
I took loads of pictures of Ben and Chloe with their sparklers . . . but can’t find them! Â I think I might have deleted them by mistake. Â Fail.

Ben and Chloe had watched some fireworks at school during the day – I think this a lovely but slightly odd thing to do! Their school do it each year but I don’t quite see the point of fireworks during the day? That said they do seem to find it exciting. Ben came home and told me all about how we celebrate bonfire night “because a man called Guy tried to blow up the king!”
So I guess we celebrated bonfire night in our own way but next year we’ll definitely do a better job!
