Our house extension is something of an ongoing project. It’s almost a year now since we first started this “ten week” project . . .
Most of the big work is done and importantly the children are in their own bedrooms and are making the most of their playroom.
At the moment, as I think is pretty common for this time of year, I’m in the mood for getting things done and making some changes to our home. We have a long list of things to do and an even longer list of things to buy and as yet not one room in the house is genuinely completed. Right at the bottom of the pile comes our bedroom.
We decorated our bedroom shortly after moving into our house almost 7 years ago – since then it has housed three newborn babies (though obviously not at the same time) and all manner of junk. The curtains are faded, the wallpaper peeling (and damp after a loose drain pipe). I hate the colour of the walls and our bed is beyond knackered. We have a lovely new carpet having just had the whole of the upstairs done as part of the extension work but the rest of it? Well I’d quite like to throw it all out and start again if I’m honest.
I’ve been steadily pinning items to a “bedroom” pinterest board – there’s a definite navy theme, I quite like the idea of navy and pale grey. Either way when our bedroom finally gets made over it’s going to be grown up and luxe. No children allowed. Top of my wish list is a new bed, a big comfy king size bed and a dressing table, somewhere I can sit and do my make up. I love cushions but Dave isn’t so keen and tells me that if I put the on the bed he will just leave them on the floor – typical bloke. All he’s bothered about really is a bed that his feet don’t hang off and some good quality black out curtains.
Oh Colette ware so similar in taste (my room is navy and pale cotton in colour)
I am really liking your choices here .. thanks for entering the competition and for good luck 🙂
I just hope I get to have this gorgeous navy bedroom at some point! 😀 X
ooooh you've gone all monochrome! Love it x
