We all know that Christmas is a time for indulgence and treats – and what could be more indulgent than a festive afternoon tea with a glass of champagne or a Christmas cocktail?
There’s lots of places giving their traditional afternoon tea offerings a festive makeover so I thought it would be worth pulling together a list of special festive afternoon tea menus in Manchester this Christmas, giving you the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the Christmas Markets or kick off your Christmas celebrations!

Festive Afternoon Tea at Grandpa Greene’s
Grandpa Greene’s is up in Saddleworth, Oldham – so not strictly Manchester but pah their Christmas afternoon tea is absolutely worthy of being on this list!
The Christmas afternoon tea at Grandpa Greene’s includes a selection of homemade festive luxury treats and open sandwiches. All bookings include a festive milkshake, homemade glühwein or luxury hot chocolate and unlimited coffee or a range of teas! (Don’t panic if you can’t eat it all – Greene’s are well prepared and will give you a doggy bag to take your leftovers home!)
If you’re booking for Grandpa Greene’s in Diggle, you can book your Christmas afternoon tea to be taken in one of their special igloos for extra novelty factor and in fact I did just that with one of my best friends in early December last year as a little Christmas treat. If you are going to sit out in the igloos, I recommend wearing layers as even though there’s blankets on the chair and a little heater, it can feel a little cold if you’re the only ones in your igloo (though usually they are pretty booked up so you’d be unlikely to be on your own for long!)
Afternoon tea at Grandpa Greene’s must be pre-booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Cloud 23
Until last Christmas, I’d not had a Festive Afternoon Tea at Cloud 23 had a traditional afternoon tea at Cloud 23 enough times to know that it would be glorious and the panoramic views of Manchester are always impressive (even if the winter weather isn’t kind)!
Last year Mich and I treated ourselves to a festive afternoon tea at Cloud 23 and both said it was not only the best afternoon tea we’d had in years but was also really good value. The service was impeccable, the surroundings gorgeous and the views across Manchester were the icing on a very fancy, festive cake.
Festive afternoon teas begin on Friday 7th November 2025 and be booked now!

Festive Afternoon Tea at Hotel Gotham
Hotel Gotham absolutely know how to do an afternoon tea (I speak from experience!) and this Christmas they are giving their award-winning afternoon tea “a very merry make-over” with an indulgent selection of scrumptious sandwiches, cakes, and desserts
Vegan and vegetarian options are available but this must be arranged at the time of booking.
Book your Festive Afternoon Tea at Hotel Gotham from £45 per person. If you fancy adding a glass of Gotham Prosecco then your afternoon tea will be priced at £49 per person or if you’re feeling extra bougie and fancy a glass of Taittinger Champagne, £56.50 per person.

This Christmas you can enjoy the highest afternoon tea in Manchester – and they mean that quite literally – at 19 storeys high, you’re going to get the most incredible views of Manchester whilst you indulge in a selection of festive savoury bites (we’re talking turkey & cranberry on country malt bread, mushroom quiche, crayfish & marie-rose roll, or smoked salmon & caviar blini), festive sweet treats (hello black forest yule log) and of course homemade scones and tea.

Festive Afternoon Tea at The Midland
Throughout the festive period, the Tea Room at The Midland will be serving up their famous Festive Afternoon Tea from Wednesday 12th November to Monday 29th December 2025 .
You will be treated to warm mulled wine on arrival, and of course there’s a premium loose-tea options to choose from.
Your festive afternoon tea at The Midland will include a selection of handmade sandwiches include poached Scottish salmon, roasted turkey and stuffing, and orange blossom honey roasted ham. Alongside the freshly baked scones, the desserts include festive treats such as a clementine custard tart and cherry mousse.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Stock Exchange Hotel
From 20th Novemeber to 21st Decemer 2025, you can enjoy an indulgent Festive Afternoon Tea, served in the stunning surroundings of tender at Stock Exchange Hotel.
Your afternoon tea will feature a selection of seasonal savouries, from turkey & chestnut sausage rolls with cheese sauce to delicate brioche prawn sandwiches. Sweet delights include mince pies, a tipsy cherry trifle, clementine & white chocolate mousse and a passion fruit chocolate coin.
Book your festive afternoon tea at Stock Exchange Hotel priced from £35 per person with the option to add on a glass of champagne or a special festive cocktail.
Festive High Tea at Grand Pacific

Grand Pacific Festive High Tea – expect bite size sweet delights and sandwiches with added Christmas sparkle – think warm mince pies, sherry trifle and, freshly baked white chocolate and cranberry scones in the very grand setting of Grand Pacific!

Festive Afternoon Tea at The Lowry Hotel
A little out of Manchester city centre, in Salford, you’ll find The Lowry Hotel ready to offer you an afternoon tea with a festive twist including mouth-watering cakes and heart-warming festive fancies.
Book your Festive Afternoon Tea at The Lowry Hotel priced at £42 for a “traditional afternoon tea” or £50 for a “champagne or gin afternoon tea”.
Festive Afternoon Tea at Malmaison Manchester
This Christmas, enjoy a range of delicious afternoon tea classics with a “Mal twist” and spruced by with a bit of festive sparkle – hello Black Forest Cherry trifle, you are mine now!
This Festive Afternoon Tea at Malmaison is available from Wednesday 12th November until Wednesday 25th December 2025 and must be pre-booked.

Festive Edition Afternoon Tea at King Street Townhouse

This Christmas, King Street Townhouse are bringing you all the best festive flavours in their Festive Edition: Afternoon Tea – think turkey and stuffing, smoked salmon & cream cheese, Brie & cranberry followed up with mulled winter berry cake, pistachio & spiced cherry tart and cranberry scone, jam & clotted cream. This is an afternoon tea menu which literally oozes Christmas!

Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Monastery

On Tuesdays throughout December, you are invited to enjoy a Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Monastery in Gorton. You afternoon tea (which has been curated to “evoke Christmas joy with every sweet and savoury bite” will be served in the beautiful, intimate setting or the Sanctuary Café.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Lyme
Available from Friday 1st to Friday 19th December 2025, you can enjoy a festive afternoon tea in the Servants Hall at Lyme.
Your afternoon tea includes a welcome drink, a warming winter soup, a selection of sandwiches, sweet treats and scones with tea or coffee and mince pies.
Festive Afternoon Tea at Lyme is priced at £30 per person and you will need to pay a deposit on booking.
Festive Afternoon Tea at Tatton Park
Available from Saturday 22nd November to Tuesday 29th December 2025 and served in the charming Gardener’s Cottage, nestled within the gardens of Tatton Park, your Festive Afternoon Tea includes seasonal finger sandwiches and and savoury specials, a selection of festive sweet treats and a flavoured scone with your choice of tea.
Book your festive afternoon tea at Tatton Park is priced at £39.95 for adults (plus £5 for a glass of prosecco) and £15.50 for children. Afternoon tea must be booked 24 hours in advance and paid in full at the time of booking.
Make an afternoon of it and visit Once Upon a Christmas at The Mansion while you’re there.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Browns Brasserie & Bar | No event for 2025
Browns have confirmed they will not be offering a festive afternoon tea this year. The information below relates to a previous event.
Indulge in a festive afternoon tea at Browns Brasserie & Bar with a selection of seasonal savouries, warm scones, mini cakes and puddings (and perhaps a cocktail or two?)
Browns Brasserie & Bar will be serving their festive afternoon tea on most days from Friday 22nd November to Tuesday 31st December 2024.
Last year 50p from every Browns Afternoon Tea was donated to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity but I can’t find any information about that this year.
