Just this week I was asked by a lovely young lady, making small talk in the way only people working in salons or on make up counters can, “Are you going anywhere this year?” – erm no, are you mad?!  I have three children under 5, why on earth would I go anywhere!!  Aside from that maternity pay and a shiny new house extension Dave and I have been abroad together twice.  TWICE in the last 12 years.  We also had a lovely holiday to Ireland with my parents before Chloe was born.  We didn’t even have a honeymoon because a) the wedding budget didn’t stretch that far and b) we had two small children to think of . . .

I suppose it’s safe to say we are out of the habit of “going on holiday” and I really can’t see us getting back into that habit any time soon – the cost and logistics of holidaying with three little ones when we don’t even all fit in one car at the moment makes the whole prospect pretty overwhelming!  Eee just the thought of trying to handle our brood in an airport and throughout the course of a flight makes me break out in cold sweat.  For now we shall have to look at holidaying somewhat more locally.

So . . . are you going anywhere nice this year?

What happens when you get put on standby with easyJet?
