Grandma Day

Last Updated on 10 October 2023 by Colette

On Monday it was my Grandma’s birthday, she would have been 94.

Every year on her birthday, with my mum, sister and Aunty M, we celebrate what has now become known as “Grandma Day“.

I’m sure Grandma would love that we all spend her birthday together (though I’m not sure what she would think about us using it as excuse for frivolous shopping!).

This year we spent the day in York, some successful shopping all round (including new clothes for me whoo), lunch with cocktails, a bit more shopping followed by tea and cake in Bettys before getting home just in time to see the kids off to bed.

Ben was sad that he couldn’t come with us, he actually had tears in his eyes as he said “I don’t understand why I can’t come and have fun with you” – I don’t think he’d have been particularly thrilled if we had actually taken him out shopping for the day!

Aunty Nic made butterfly buns with Ben & Chloe
 – just like Grandma used to make x

We are already making plans for the next Grandma Day.
