“Never put your finger up your nose!”

Last Updated on 7 July 2020 by Colette

So last night Ben and Chloe went to bed as usual.  Because they share a room we still use the baby monitor so that we can hear what they are up to, unsurprisingly they rarely go straight to sleep.  We are generally treated to an array of chatting, banging around, screeching and random noises but eventually they sort themselves out and go to sleep without too much fuss or need for us to intervene.  Occasionally Chloe will get a little strop on if Ben happens to have gone to sleep before her and she’s bored but generally all is well with bedtime in the Burgess household.

Last night I could hear the pair of them having a little sing song and I was so entertained that I just had to record it! Now forgive me if the quality is a bit off but I recorded it using my mobile from my end of the baby monitor!

What I was particularly impressed by was the team work that went into this little performance.  Prior to me getting up to record it Ben had started singing “Never put your finger up your nose” (which he had picked up from watching Dr Ranj on Cbeebies earlier in the day and you can watch at the bottom of this post).  Chloe was trying to join in with him so kept repeating “nose” at the end of his little ditty. Somehow Ben convinced her she should sing “Oh yeah” at the end instead and they went on for quite a while!  Ben tried to alter the tune of his singing slightly and explained to Chloe that he wanted her to do something a bit different but that proved to be a step to far so they reverted to their original composition.I actually tweeted @DrRanj – it’s a shame Ben wouldn’t quite understand that as I’m sure he’d be thrilled that I got a reply – it made me smile!

Just had to edit the post to add this in:

  1. Aww, these two should definitely be put forward for Britain's Got Talent! Like you said, the teamwork alone is impressive 🙂

    • Especially considering Chloe is only just two! I'm amazed that he got her to understand what he wanted her to do. They are such a funny pair.
