New Luxurious Chocolate Dessert: PATI & COCO

I don’t know about you, but I’m very much a pudding girl – when it comes to choosing two courses, I could give up a starter any day in favour of a dessert – in fact I often look at the dessert menu first and work my way backwards when we are eating out! I tend to feel my meal isn’t complete if I haven’t rounded it off with a little something sweet.

Introducing Pati & Coco

Pati & Coco is a divine new multi-layered, multi-textured chocolate dessert that engages and stimulates all the senses and provides a moment of pure indulgence that demands your full attention.

When I first read this description – I thought, surely we’re just talking a posh chocolate trifle? And I wasn’t entirely wrong – it is akin to a fancy chocolate trifle or a sundae but the textures are much firmer than that – there’s smooth, and then crunchy but nothing sloppy or overly soft in the way a trifle might be (can you tell I’m not a trifle girl?).

You might wonder where the name Pati & Coco comes from? Well this ‘unapologetically indulgent creation’ is a combination of French Patisserie (Pati) and fine Belgian chocolate ganache (Coco)!

Pato & Coco is available in four intense, luxurious flavours; Ganache & Choc (my least favourite), Praline & Choc (always a winning combination), Caramel & Choc (a pure classic) and Pistachio & Choc (*dribbles* – won’t be sharing these!)

The marketing materials for this new dessert suggest it’s an ‘immersive experience‘ – which I think is potentially over egging the pudding for what is simply a really lovely pud! However, cracking the signature layer of fine tempered dark chocolate on the top rather feels like digging for treasure! Once you’re through that you will find layers of ganache, sheets of chocolate and a crunchy biscuit layer – leaving you with something across between a trifle and a cheesecake.

The individual glass pots are not only better for the environment than plastic ones but they will also mean that these Pati & Coco desserts wouldn’t look out of place on your dining table over the festive season (though you are just as likely to find me curled up on my favourite armchair with one after the kids have gone to bed (Ben has had his eye on the Caramel & Choc flavour but so far I’ve manged to keep his hands off it!)

Each 80g pot is a perfectly sized, individual treat – and of course this is very much a treat and probably not something to be eating daily after your tea! Pati & Coco should most definitely be enjoyed and luxuriated in as part of a balanced diet.
