Easter weekend was a busy one for us! We only finished work on Maundy Thursday so it was head first into the long bank holiday weekend. On Friday we made our way over to Liverpool to watch Beauty & the Beast at The Epstein Theatre which was a really lovely treat to start the holidays! Saturday morning was a quick weigh-in at Slimming World for me whilst Dave packed the car up ready to head over to York.
The drive to York whilst relatively uneventful if a little exhausting trying to block out all this in the back of the car . . .
We got to York at lunch time and everyone was very excited to see Granny and Grandad! We took a drive out to the Designer Outlet to pick up some new school shoes for Ben from Clarks and they all enjoyed blowing off some steam in the outdoor play area afterwards.
Saturday night was a rare date night for Dave and I. We celebrated our third wedding anniversary on Sunday so took full advantage of Mum and Dad being able to babysit and made our way into town for the evening. I had packed a dress and heels and everything, fully intending to make a real effort and looking forward to sharing some cocktails. When it came to it I was just exhausted and ended up wearing jeans to go for a curry in our favourite curry house and a few drinks in a quiet pub up the road. It was so lovely to spend some time together on our own, to chat about nothing in particular and relax properly. It’s most definitely something we need to do more.
Sunday morning was, of course, all about the Easter egg hunt. Ben and Chloe were super patient as they knew they had to wait for Aunty Nic to get there before they could start looking for anything. (I’m not sure I could have been so patient if I knew there were chocolate eggs hidden all over the garden with my name on them!)
Aunty Nic is very good friends with the Easter Bunny and we were all thoroughly spoiled with an array of delicious Hotel Chocolat treats! (Is there any better chocolate?! Nobody does Easter like Hotel Chocolat that’s for sure.)
Ready for a picture overload?
Hope you had a lovely Easter weekend too?
