Parents’ Meetings!

Last Updated on 5 September 2023 by Colette

Today was my chance to catch up with Ben’s key worker Sandra for the first time since Ben has started attending full days and also since I’ve been back at work.

We talked about the funny things he says – like just this morning when he had asked her why she had come to work in her pyjamas!!  (Apparently she was wearing a different top to usual)

It was lovely to look through his profile and read all the bits and pieces that he’s been doing – he has pretty much completed the lists of things he should do by 3 and a half and is well into the listings of things they would expect him to do by the end of Reception – yes that’s one very proud Mummy!

It made me smile to read the things he had been saying for example when he has offered Sandra some of his snack, she politely declined and and told her “You have to try it first before you can say you don’t like it!” – Wonder where that came from ;o)  Oh and apparently when she asked him if Mummy looked beautiful at the wedding he told her the wedding was “fantastic” and “Mummy was huge” – I can only hope he was referring to my dress!!

She told me that since he has been back after Easter and started to attend two full days (which obviously coincides with me being back at work) he has become a little more clingy and will sometimes to go her for a cuddle and tell her “I miss Mummy” – I could have cried :o(  I’m really missing my little boy just now (after a few late nights at work this week and me having barely seen him) so that was hard to hear.  Thankfully we’re touching on a bank holiday weekend and I will get to spend some proper time with him!
