A couple of months ago I introduced Ben and his best mate Finley to the new Force Attax Extra Topps Trading Cards. Although Finley was already a keen collector of Match Attax cards, Ben hadn’t collected anything like this before and we spent some time taking about how the collection would work and swapping duplicate cards.
Both boys were immediately excited by the special shiny cards or the ones which stand up – getting a special card in your pack is always a great moment!
The boys have worked hard over the last two months to earn extra packs and complete their collections and have both done really well. What they do need to do however is spend a little time going through their duplicate cards and swapping them to fill the gaps – that said I think Ben quite likes having multiples of the same card, especially if’it’s a character he particularly likes!
f course with the boys building their Force Attax Extra collections, the girls want to get in on the game as well! Conveniently Topps have a great range of Shopkins Trading Cards products which meant Chloe and Erin could also start to collect and swap cards together.
Now neither Erin or Chloe know a lot about Shopkins (and in fact neither do their mums!) but that doesn’t stop them being super excited about their collections, particularly the shiny, sparkly cards – who wouldn’t be excited by those! The cards feature the adorable, collectable characters from Shopville and can be used to play a game with the mat included in the starter park. At the moment, the girls aren’t bothered by playing the game and just want to collect and compare their cards!
At just £1 for a packet of cards (available in Martins, McColls, One Stop, Asda, WHSmith, Tesco and Sainsburys) they make for a great treat or incentive which won’t break the bank! (They promise of more Force Attax Extra or Shopkins cards is certainly getting me lots of jobs done around the house)

My 8 year old loves Shopkins. I thought that I was just a fad when she asked me last year for some and I said no as I thought of all the unwanted loom bands and other crazes that she had gone through. She was still asking this year and so I asked family to get her some for her birthday and she ended up with over 40 as well as the Top Trumps cards, pyjamas and books! Thankfully she plays with them every day and her 3 year old sister loves to join in too!
All I know is that my neice thinks they are the best thing ever and often showing me her latest bits she’s got -some of it does look fun and she gets loads of pleasure from it

Oh goodness my kids are obsessed with shopkins, they’d love these x #triedtested
aww this reminds me of when I used to collect the Harry Potter stickers for the sticker book – so exciting when you’re little! The sparkly ones are always the best 🙂 x
My daughter, who’s 8yo, has recently discovered Shopkins with her friends. I think they’re very addictive, so be warned!
#TriedTested
I recall pogs and cards to do with tea when I was growing up so can truly understand how excited the little ones get over these. Thanks for hosting #TriedTested
These look fab! My son recently started collecting stickers for a Finding Dory sticker album and I still find myself getting a little thrill from a “shiny” lol!
They look fun & a great thing for kids to collect
I know absolutely nothing, as I am surrounded by boys. A son and two nephews! When my daughter was little she would have loved these!
I’m not sure what they are, they seem to be tiny little bits of plastic that look like normal household items. My daughter loves them and can name quite a few, there is one thing I can tell you if you stand on them they really hurt!
I know the name of every season 3,4 and 5 Shopkins, thanks to my 6yo daughter. Who can recall the name of every single one she has (over 180) and it’s great to listen to if you are struggling to get to sleep!
I’ve learnt lots of names after my daughter was gifted them for her birthday
All the girls in my son’s class love Shopkins and collecting the different collectables. My niece likes them too
I don’t know much other than kids love shopkins including my niece and nephews!
My granddaughter Skye aged 7 loves shopkins, we often sit and play ‘shopping’ together putting all of our goodies in the basket.
I dont know a lot about them other then they are little collectable things, well that what i get from my daughter haha 🙂
I’m afraid I don’t know anything about Shopkins.
Shopkins are little collectible figures you would find in shops that come in mini shopping bags
it is the latest in-thing. There are different characters all with different scents. They are collectable. There are lots of different products you can purchase.
My 6 year old loves shopkins and knows all the names! (As does my hubby!) I myself havent got a clue! They are a good reward treat but thibk the cards would be better and better on the purse and i know my daughter would love themA
All I know is that they are collectable and my little girl like many other kids love them! 🙂
Nothing at all, I’ve heard grandchildren mention them and thats it
Shopkins have a massive range of toys and the children love them 🙂
My niece was telling me how all her friends at school were really into Shopkins but I never realised until I read your blog post the massive appeal they have.

My 6 year old loves shopkins, and she knows all their names!!
They are small and just as painful to step on as Lego
Shopkins are collectable toys much beloved by my daughter . If you enjoying endless picking up small bits plastic that have been scattered randomly over your house then maybe you would like them too.
Nothing, just that my daughter wants them for her birthday 🙂
My 8yr old collects them I haven’t a clue of any of their names I’m just the one who pays for them lol
My daughter absolutely loves collecting Shopkins! She loves collecting them and will spend ages re-arranging them on her shelves and listing all the ones she has and the ones she still wants!
i don’t know much, honestly, however in my shop, they are so popular its unreal.
Not a lot at the moment as I am “late to the party” but my great-niece and great-nephew have only just got into Shopkins so we are learning together and they tell me off if I get stuff wrong lol.
My son loves these
I had not heard about them before today. However I expect my grandchildren will know all about them and would like me to win.
LETS HAVE FUN
My eight year old son loves Shopkins. The characters are all really colourful and imaginatively named and themed along the lines of things that you might find in a shop like bakery, hats or fruit, so the possibilities are endless. His favourite character is Jules, who is an ‘accessory from the Season 4 series’ (his words, not mine!).
shopkins have many collectables!
I have seen some of the little characters – they look cute.
I wish I could enlighten you but we have not heard of these 🙁 Great giveaway though 🙂
I know you get a little “shopping list” with each series showing you all the ones you can collect and their names, my girls love them! Thanks for the chance to win.
All I know is that my niece adores them!
shopkins are little miniatures of things you would buy in the shop – they have lots of different collections and like pokemon you gotta get them all!
These sound great! We have just introduced Monkey to sticker books, but he doesn’t was to swap his paw patrol duplicates either lol. Good idea for using them as incentives may have to try that! Thanks for hosting #TriedTested sorry my comments late just catching up after being away X
My now 20 year old son, used to collect Pokemon cards, he was obsessed. Word of advice, when your child stops playing with them or grows up, never throw them away, I was in big trouble as most of his cards I threw are now worth alot of money.
Great review.
I would have never though of that!
