The Baby Show – A Spring Bucket List Update

Last Updated on 13 March 2024 by Colette

On Friday Amy and I were up and out early doors to make our way down the M6 to Birmingham to visit The Baby Show.  We left the house shortly after 7am and arrived to meet Kate as planned at about 9.15am.  Despite never having actually met Kate in person before we’ve been chatting for so long that it just felt like the most normal thing in the world to be spending the day together wandering around The Baby Show.  I sort of forget that we hadn’t actually seen each other before!

On arriving at The Baby Show we collected our passes for the day and then made our way straight to Cosatto (and what lovely people they were) where we swapped our own prams for a Giggle each to try out for the day.  Both Amy and Max gave the Giggle their own seal of approval by falling asleep! I could have quite happily brought the Giggle home with me!

We attended a launch for the new Fisher Price First Steps Jumperoo (watch out for our review of this very soon!) and met up with lots of other bloggers, some of whom I’d met at Blog On and others I was meeting for the first time.

As you would expect Amy and I spent the day exploring the show, chatting to people and writing mental wishlists!

I came very close to buying an Ergo Baby Carrier – I’ve loved my Close carrier but Amy is starting to be too big for it now and I’m hankering for something more structured.  When I tried the Ergo on I loved the way it spread the weight across my hips rather than across my back and shoulders.  I was also pretty drawn the gorgeous Stokke MyCarrier (I just loved the navy!)  The lovely lady at Close did show me a new way of using my current carrier for a hip carry but I have struggled to replicate it at home!

I also looked at several highchairs – my favourites being the Orb from Ickle Bubba (I loved the colour combinations) and the Stokke Steps Chair.  I’m definitely finding it tricky to feed Amy sat on my knee now so need to get something sorted for her!

We spent quite a while chatting to the very lovely man at Bumbleride and I fear the Indie 4 may have stolen my heart a little!

Amazingly I managed to come away with having only spent a few pounds on a Lansinoh mOmma non-spill cup (although annoyingly I picked on up without handles by mistake) – I’m hoping Amy loves it! It looks like it should be really nice for her to drink from with its soft spout and it claims to be non-spill so we shall see! (It has been christened the “boob cup”)

I had planned to buy Amy some new Bibetta bibs but just totally forgot to grab them on the way out.

Amy and I finally made it home at about 8pm – it was an incredibly long day for both of us but worth it!

*We were invited to attend The Baby Show as guests however I have not been asked to write about the show or any of the brands I have mentioned.  All thoughts and opinions are my own*

  1. It was great to see you! I can't believe we didn't manage to catch up again though – my phone was on its last legs so I had to have my data off all day and it still died at about 2pm! Time for an upgrade I think! x

  2. It was so so lovely to meet you 'in real life' – even though it feels like I have known you for ages 😉
Amy and Max totally rocked their matching prams you know. It was such a fantastic day and I am SO glad we did it.
