Bamboo socks for the office
Since Dave has moved to an office job and now wears smart trousers and a shirt and tie for work, he likes to wear a bright patterned sock and there’s plenty of choice at SOCKSHOP. I picked him out a pair of the softest “rainbow striped bamboo socks” and set of three “Glenmuir stripe bamboo socks” to top up his sock drawer (which also means I can now get away with chucking out a couple of pairs that are looking past their best – I can’t stand threadbare socks!). I’m not sure if you’ve had bamboo socks before but they are super smooth and non-irritating with naturally odour-resisting, antibacterial properties. Bamboo can manage moisture and temperature for dry, consistently cool feet making it a great choice for your everyday work wear sock!
Specialised socks with arch support
It’s not very glamorous but I do suffer with my feet a bit. Since being pregnant and living in flip flips for months at a time, my feet spread and my arches have collapsed. Mostly I manage this with careful footwear choices (supportive trainers and not fancy high heels!) but I noticed that SOCKSHOP sell specialised socks with arch support so I picked out a pair of “1000 Mile Trail Socks” which are anatomically designed for trail and fell running or mountain biking – neither of which I actually do but I figured they’d be great in my walking shoes for those long woodland dog walks where the ground can be particularly uneven! They are soft, breathable and naturally antibacterial socks which provide support thanks to a padded heel which extends to protect the Achilles tendon, along with toes and ball of the foot.
