I’m not really sure how this is even possible but in September Chloe will be starting Nursery at our local primary school.  She’s really excited to be joining Ben at his school and would start tomorrow if she was allowed to.

In preparation for Chloe’s busy mornings at Nursery we have been trying out some items of school uniform from Trutex.  When the package first arrived poor Chloe though that was it and she could wear her cardigan for school the very next morning – some skillful distraction techniques had to be employed to avoid a full scale meltdown!

I think it’s pretty clear from the look on her face that she was excited to be allowed to try her new school uniform on . . .

Chlo was clearly very comfortable in her new school uniform as she was more than happy to run and jump around in it, she had plenty of room to move and she really didn’t want to take it off again! (Again the well practised distraction techniques came into play here . . . Peter Rabbit and some juice anyone?)

Chloe put her uniform through it’s paces!

I was really impressed that Trutex offer such an immense range of colours, styles and sizes to suit from the tiny tots like Chloe starting at Nursery right through to your more fashion conscious teens.  (I can’t have been the only one who used to roll their skirt up at the bus stop as their Mum wouldn’t buy them a shorter one!  I dread my girls reaching that age!)

Obviously I can’t really comment on how well the uniform washes and wears as my little lady hasn’t started school yet.  What I will tell you is that the cardigan, which is generously size for growing room without being ridiculous, feels thick but not bulky, it’s super soft to touch, not at all stiff and all cosy on the inside (I must remember to pre-wash it so she doesn’t get fluffy t shirts!).  Her skirt has an adjustable waistband which is just as well as it would have fallen off her otherwise!  The fabric isn’t stiff but you know its going to last and those pleats aren’t going anywhere (unless I get something really wrong with my ironing!)  The shape of the skirt allows her to move comfortably – she won’t struggle to run around the playground with her friends or cross her legs on the carpet.  Her white polo shirt is soft on her skin, the collar sits smartly and there is plenty of length to tuck into her skirt and keep her tidy.

Over all I’m really impressed with Chloe’s Trutex school uniform and have high hopes that it will easily last her through her Nursery year and remain looking just as smart.
UPDATE January 2018
So Chloe’s skirt and cardigan washed and wore so well that not only did she wear them until she outgrew them, but Amy is now wearing them for Nursery too.  The cardigan has faded and isn’t as soft and snuggly anymore but it has kept it’s shape and is still tidy enough to be worn.

  11. She looks so happy. But gosh that takes me back. I had that colour cardigan at infants, but with a tunic rather than a skirt. #TriedTested
