Twenty Four Reasons Why My Child Needs the Toilet

“Have you wiped your bum properly?”

“Did you flush the toilet?”

“Have you washed your hands?”

Although we’ve been out of nappies for quite some time now and our children are more than capable of taking themselves off to the toilet when they need to, toilet habits still seem to feature fairly highly on our topics of conversation!

Bum wiping and poo seem to be Dave’s pet hate whereas mine is the kids needing to go for wee at the most awkward of times.  With that in mind I’ve written a list of 23 reasons why my child needs to go to the toilet . . .

Ha ha, that made me laugh. It’s very similar in our house…especially when there’s tidying to be done.

Oh yes! When we started potty training I envisaged all of these and I wasn’t let down, exhausting at times but funny for the predictablilty 🙂

Oh gosh, this made me laugh and grimace at the same time. I am about to start potty training the toddler, he is 3 in October and I have been putting it off thanks to upcoming travel and the fact that we have just moved house… I have to do it…

Haha so many reasons to need a wee! I am sure I used to be annoying on the motorway as a child when it came to needing to go just after the services.

  8. August 4, 2018 / 7:24 pm

I can’t wait for my children to be able to go to the toilet independently. They are 6 and 8 and I see no end in sight!

Reading your post just put a smile on my face as both my kids as the same and they are 7 and 5 years old I am constantly reminding them about washing their hands after using the toilet and they both love to go to the toilet at the same time!

I live for the day they remember to flush the toilet!

Ha never mind the kids, this sounds like me! The joy of having the bathroom to myself before the cats realise ive moved in bliss x

Love this! Can relate to every single one of them. I’ve been known to say ‘If there is any possibility that you might need the toilet in the next half an hour, can you please go now!’ when we’re on the motorway or a long walk etc etc and there’s a toilet right in front of them. Five minutes later, we will have passed the toilet and they will need to go. And, yes, my kids are teenagers, so it doesn’t improve all that much!

Yes! They don’t seem to get the importance of just having a try! Mine will need to go the moment I’ve locked the front door!
