I’ve noticed that there’s an increasing number of options if you fancy going roller skating in Manchester at the moment with new places popping up all the time so I thought it would be worth pulling together a list of places to go roller-skating in Manchester! Some of the places offer roller-skating lessons, others are more of a roller disco vibe so do check with each of the venues what sort of rollerskating sessions they have on offer!

Projekts MCR Skatepark, 97 London Rd, Manchester M1 2PG
Projekts MCR Skatepark is described as “a perfect combination of street, transition and flat ground located in one of the most unique environments in the UK; nestled underneath the Mancunian way flyover just outside Manchester city centre”.
First and foremost, Projekts MCR Skatepark is a skateboarding park – however, Monday evenings between 7pm and 9pm they host a “Roller Session” for skates of all abilities age 5+. Safety equipment is provided (helmet, wrist guards, knee & elbow pads) but you must bring your own skates! Inline and Quad skating coaching is available.
These sessions are limited so must be pre-booked priced at £12 per person.
Projekts MCR Skatepark also has a friendly, independent cafe serving the best quality drinks, homemade food, freshly made cakes to help you refuel after your skating session!
Rollercity Rochdale, Green Mill, Platting Ln, Rochdale OL11 2LS
Rollercity is one of the largest rollerskating rink in the North West, offering up a large rink suitable for 100+ skaters, licenced bars for food and drink, two lounge areas, and free on-site WIFI as well as free car parking.
Rollercity Rochdale was the first place I went rollerskating with the kids – they were so little that Amy was still in her car seat I think. We took Aunty Custard (a seasoned roller derby player) and strapped our skates on.

Archie’s Atomic, Trafford Palazzo
Archie’s Atomic is a roller-skating and arcade venue (featuring a huge pink roller rink) at Trafford Palazzo. Archie’s Atomic is open to skaters of all levels however participants must be at least 6 years old, and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the rink.Â

Ardwick Sports Hall, 225 Stockport Rd, Manchester M12 4DY
Ardwick Sports Hall hosts a Roller Skating disco every weekend from 3pm to 5pm for just £5 per person including skate hire!

Paradise Skate World, Unit 5, Great Northern Warehouse, 235 Deansgate, Manchester M3 4EN | PERMENANTLY CLOSED
Paradise Skate World closed in September 2024
Paradise Skate World is a rollerskating and cocktail bar (not sure who thought that was a good idea!) in the heart of Manchester.
The 6000 sq ft venue inside the Great Northern Warehouse has space for up to 60 skaters at a time on its wood-spring rink. As well as the purpose built rollerskating rink, you’ll find a skate-up bar serving ‘cosmic cocktails and other lunar liquids’, plus pan-Pacific snacks that fuse Mexican and Japanese flavours.
The UK-first skating rink says it will be about ‘attitude, not ability’ encouraging skaters of all levels to take to the rink – though personally I’d be super wary about mixing cocktails and wheels!
Although initially the interplanetary playground was strictly over 18s, there are now junior sessions available to book. These sessions are for over 11s and take place between 4pm and 7pm, Tuesday to Thursday and then Sunday afternoons. Under 18s are not permitted at any time on Fridays and Saturdays.

Good Life Skates at Escape to Freight Island, 11 Baring St, Manchester M1 2PZ – PERMENANTLY CLOSED
Good Life Skates was due reopen on Friday 4th February 2023 but this didn’t happen and Good Life Skates is now permanently closed.
Good Life Skates is a brand new, 8,000 square-foot roller skate rink at Escape to Freight Island – book your hour long skate session (£8.50 – less if you take your own boots) and then book a table for food downstairs afterwards! Cool tunes and good vibes to suit your older kids!
Sessions start from 4pm mid week or 12pm on weekends – I’d suggest if you’re heading down with the kids, earlier sessions might be a good idea! (Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult, under 3s aren’t allowed.)
Good Life Skates offering beginner sessions supervised by skilled chaperones for adults and kids who are just starting out on their roller-skating journey! Adult beginner sessions are from 10am to 11am on Saturdays and Sunday. Kids’ beginner sessions are from 11am to 12pm on Saturdays and Sunday.
Nevada Roller Rink CIC, Burnden Sports Complex, Croft Ln, Burnden, Bolton BL3 2RS
Neveda Roller Rink in Bolton offers a proper old school roller disco skate session with loud music and disco lights priced at £7 per person including fee skate hire or £5 per person on Saturday mornings.

Atherton Roller Rink, Bolton Rd, Atherton, Manchester M46 9JQ
North West Roller Sports CIC is the premier Indoor Roller Skating Rink and Roller Hockey Venue in Greater Manchester.
Head down to Atherton Roller Rink for an indoor roller disco with your family and friends. You’ll enjoy the best music and disco lights on the main rink with staff to help you as well as a practice rink for toddlers and younger children to enjoy.
Entry to the Roller Disco at Atherton Roller Rink is priced at £5 per person plus £3 skate hire if required. There is a £2 charge for spectator though they are treated to free tea or coffee while they watch! .

The Forum, Simonsway, Wythenshawe, Manchester M22 5RX
Every Friday at The Forum, Wythenshawe, Roller Club host two roller discos. The first, from 5.45pm to 7pm is for beginners and improvers age 4 to adult with the later session at 7.15pm to 8.30pm being for improvers and experienced skaters age 6 to adult. Staff are always on hand to help beginners and, roller skates and roller blades are available to hire.

The Star Wash Roller Disco, Trafford Centre | Temporary attraction – not currently open
This summer, at the Orient Main Stage – where the random and completely pointless swimming pool used to be – you will find the brand new pop up Star Wash Roller Disco!
The roller disco is open daily through the school holidays from 11am to 8pm (Sundays from 10am to 6pm) with relaxed sessions every weekday at 11am, with fewer skaters, dimmed lighting and quieter music, for those who prefer a more chilled-out skating experience.
Book your roller skating session at The Star Wash Roller Disco priced at £10 per person off peak and £12 per person peak for a 25 minute skate session – under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
Wigan Roller Rink, Unit 2, Eckersley Mill, Swan Meadow Rd, Wigan WN3 5BD
Wigan Roller Rink is a huge huge roller skating arena (in fact they claim to be Europe’s largest indoor roller rink) with a powerful sound system, a licensed bar, café and urban skate clothing store.
Roller skating sessions at Wigan Roller Rink are primarily family sessions for all ages but they do have bi-monthly adult only skate sessions.
You can find more details on opening times here – it’s worth noting that Wigan Roller Rink do not take bookings for skate sessions, just turn up and pay on entry.

You missed wigan roller rink the biggest in the northwest. They do skating lessons Thursday and Sunday for all the family. Skating from £6 pp for 2 hour sessions. Great helpful staff well worth the road trip and slushes all round at the end of a sesaion
