100 Years of Magic – Disney On Ice Tour

I used to hate tidying plush mountain at the end of a shift!

This year Chloe has developed the ability to sit and focus on a feature length film (I think we have Frozen to thank for that one).  Being able to put a DVD on of an afternoon has been an absolute lifesaver on more than one occasion this school holiday and I’ve started to introduce them to one or two of the Disney Classics.  I’ve especially enjoyed being able to branch out from Toy Story and Cars and so on.  Chloe has especially enjoyed The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, as has Ben to be fair.

As Ben and Chloe are getting older and starting to become more aware of the various Disney characters I would really love to be able to take them to see a Disney On Ice performance – ok so I admit it, part of the pleasure would be for me too!  I have fond memories of working my late teens and early twenties in The Disney Store (and yes, before you ask, part of my job was indeed to be the person on the door saying “Hello!” wearing a dreadful bright blue cardigan).

At 3 and 5 I think they are just about old enough to really enjoy Disney On Ice and to remember the event.  This year’s tour, “100 Years of Magic: Disney On Ice” starts in Glasgow in late September and makes its way down the country via Manchester and Birmingham, to name but a few, before finishing in London over the Christmas period.

At the moment Ben has got a real thing about wanting to stay in a hotel so, if money were no object, it would be really lovely to make a proper weekend of it – a hotel in Glasgow, Manchester or Birmingham would be a real treat for all of us – it would make a real adventure of an already special event!
