Amy’s pulling herself up to standing!

Last Updated on 23 February 2021 by Colette

This weekend Amy has mastered a new skill and she’s working hard at perfecting it!

pulling up on furniture

She has shown little interest in standing before, even when we were holding her up on our knees she wouldn’t really bother to try and put weight on her legs to stand

Yesterday, completely out of the blue, she pulled herself up to standing using the bars of her Lindam playpen – of course I was far too slow to get a picture.

Today she has been standing in her cot, pulling herself up on the Jumperoo or the sofa and enjoying being held up by Mummy & Daddy.

She has taken great pleasure in trying to reach things on the sofa and trying to get involved with Ben and Chloe’s toys.  At the moment this is a novelty and they don’t mind, they’re excited to see her little face peeping over the sofa looking at them but I think they might get more annoyed soon!

I’m sure Ben was convinced she was just going to start walking today – I explained that the next step would be “cruising” – so whilst I’m excited to see my little lady pulling herself up on the furniture today I can’t say I’m not a little sad to see how grown up she looks too!
