As you know we are currently working as Gore-Tex Family Ambassadors which means we’re testing out new shoes each season and putting them through the paces on our adventures! Â (You can read about our first Summer Gore-Tex Adventure)
Today the girls wore their Gore-Tex shoes for a Big Day Out to the zoo. Unfortunately Ben’s shoes are already too small so he wasn’t able to wear his. We have spent the best part of 6 hours at the zoo today, walking around and exploring.
Although there’s obviously no guarantees at this time of year we did quite well with the weather, the rain held off and it wasn’t too cold. The girls’ shoes were ideal for the weather conditions, they weren’t going to get wet feet if it rained but equally the Gore-Tex Surround technology meant I knew they wouldn’t get sweaty feet either!
The fit and fastenings of the shoes means that the shoes are sturdy and supportive, they’re not going to fall off or rub.
What we love about them:
* The Velcro / zip fastenings make it considerably easier for the kids to be independent in putting on and taking off their own shoes
* These shoes are specifically designed to keep feet cool making them the idea Spring / Summer adventure shoe! No sweaty feet here!
* They’re lightweight and comfortable
* The shoes are supportive and “sensible” – as you would expect.
* There’s no rubbing – from first wear the kids were comfortable and happy to explore all day
* They’re flexible – perfect for all that climbing or walking over uneven ground
What we’re not so keen on:
* They’re pink and sparkly – whilst this doesn’t impact on their effectiveness whatsoever it really doesn’t make them aesthetically pleasing in my book! (Of course I know this is just personal taste!)
* The suede effect finish will look tired quickly – though I must admit it’s wearing better than I had expected! Whilst I know these are a Spring / Summer shoe and should therefore not get quite so dirty as an Autumn / Winter pair I would still prefer a more wipe clean material for this sort of shoe.
Overall I’m really impressed with our Gore-Tex shoes and can’t wait to try out the new Autumn / Winter range over the coming coming months.

I really like the style and practically of Gore-Tex shoes. I clicked to see if they have other colours as well as pink and sparkly and was really impressed with the choices 🙂
#triedtested
I'm not keen on the colours either but I do think they look like a good design, comfortable and practical to wear. Shame so many shoe companies don't see past pink and sparkly for girls' shoes.
I always struggle with suede on shoes, always seems to ruin quickly, they look lovely on your girls! #triedtested
Despite the colour (that we all know you have an adversion to) I do think they are proving to be hard wearing and versatile. The girls look cute in them. The monkeys have been wearing theirs alot. x
Thanks for a great and honest review; I agree with you about the suede effect. Whenever we've had that on our shoes it has never worn well, which is a shame, but children do wear their shoes hard!
We've purchased the Gor-Tex trainers before and they do have other colours (we're not a sparkly pink household either!) and & I would say they've been good value for money
Thnx for hosting #TriedTested
Aw I love the colour! They look like a great pair of shoes, gore-tex is not somewhere I would have thought to look for shoes.
I too would prefer a wipe clean material, so much easier with the state my little one gets in!.
but these do look comfy and practical 🙂 x
They look and sound like great shoes for little feet….I know what you mean about the colour….My girl would of course love them. She is all for pink & sparkly x
They look like great shoes. Love the colours and great that they're durable and comfortable too #TriedTested
The fact that they don't rub on the first wear and they are comfortable makes these sound great in my book.
#Tried/Tested
Those look really good – we often take the kids out walking in their wellies which isn't ideal sometimes. We could really do with some shoes like these!
I love how hardy these seem! So many brands just can't seem to make shoes that can withstand a toddler let along a bigger kid and all their running around and acrobatics!
I like the idea they keep feet cool as little feet can get so hot can't they #TriedTested
Aw these look good – especially with the velcro. I know what you mean about the sparkly though! #triedtested
We're currently looking for shoes for Mini M as he has lived in his doodles all summer. Will check out the boys range
Will have to look at the boys designs x
These look great, fab to have a shoe that won't let little ones' feet get too sweaty! #TriedTested
I always get Gore-Tex boots for BB in winter – they might be a bit pricey but worth itx #TriedTested
I am a huge fan of gore-tex and they are just the best footwear for our children in my opinion. I do agree the designs and colours are a little limited, but sure over time hopefully that'll change. x
I like Gore-Tex, it makes things more breathable and in shoes that's so important. I'm with you on the pink too.
I haven't ever thought about Gore-Tex shoes for the kids, always think they are a walking book brand and didn't realise they did kids everyday shoes.
I'm always looking for new hard wearing shoes for my son so might have to check Gore-Tex out. I've seen the adverts on TV but never considered them. I'll have a nosey the next time I'm at the shops though as I'm sure my son will need shoes pretty soon.
I've not heard of this brand before but they look great x
I've heard good things about gore-tex and these look very comfy! #triedtested
Not heard of the brand before but the shoes look gorgeous! Love the colour and style x
They look great, its not a brand which we have brought before but the fact that they eliminate sweat and are water proof really appeals to me. Monkey has a tendency to wear his shoes out just before going up another size. I may give them ago to see if they can stand up to his punishment! Thanks for hosting #TriedTested
Hahaha I love pink and sparkly shoes! Well I am only 2! Never heard of this brand. Great review!
Tin Box Tot gets very sweaty feet, so something that breathes like these would be ideal for her #triedtested
We haven't ventured beyond the start-rite shop for the boys shoes. These sound like they do a good job
my daughter would of loved these all pink and sparkly! they do sound great for days out like yours nice to know they are comfortable for all that walking #triedtested
I know goretex, as a good material for walking boots – we love hiking – so I'm sure your girls feet were very comfy. I definitely agree on the pink side. I'm not a fan of pink and glitter in any guise…
I love how breathable these are, perfect for long days out.
These look great, and it's good to hear that the suede is wearing well. can't wait to hear how the autumn/winter shoes fare!
I haven't heard of this brand before. They look good though! I like their design and the colour! My girls would love these shoes! #TriedTested

The girls certainly look comfy in them – I'll have to have a look at the boys range, Toby always seems to manage to get wet feet at nursery so Gortex would probably be a good idea!
i like the look of them,hi tops more so
