After going in to get Ben and Chloe ready for their day today and finding Ben sat on his bed with two of his White Company alphabet blocks – a “b” and a “6” – which he told me were “b for Ben”.  This, combined with a morning of phonics training at school, I got it into my head that I needed to buy some magnetic letters for the fridge  (tho I’ve always sworn I wouldn’t do it for some reason!)
We got a tub of magnetic letters from Tesco on the way home tonight. We say playing with them on the fridge and he picked the b, e and n out for his own name over and over. I showed him “n for Nic” and “g for Granny” then he found some more and told me what they were. The pure highlight was when I showed him “r” and I made an “rrrrrr” sound which he told me was a “pooing noise” and pretended to push a poo out!!!  Later when we went to bed the “r” block was out on the floor so I asked him what it was and he told me it was a poo sound!  Hilarious.
We have found that magnetic letter's can bring with them some fantastic discoveries. It's funny that you never wanted them, I couldn't wait to have a fridge that I could get these for lol. I will never see the 'r' in the same light again.
