The chances are, if I mention the brand Muddy Puddles to you, you will think of waterproof overalls and brightly coloured rain coats, but did you know they do a range of swimwear too? Muddy Puddles offer a capsule collection of UV protective children’s swimwear for children age 6 months – 12 years and, as an added bonus, the range is made using fabric from recycled plastic bottles! With the brightly coloured patterns we’ve come to know and love from Muddy Puddy Puddles, the range features swimsuits, surf suits, rash vests and swim shorts designed for practicality and safety too.
In addition to this fantastic range of Muddy Puddles swimwear, there is a towelling poncho available in two of the swimwear patterns – “white fish” and “blue triangles”. Of course the towelling poncho doesn’t offer the same UV protection that the swimwear range does but it is a super handy addition to your swimming kit.

Amy is likes to wear her new towelling poncho after her swimming lessons. We all know what a pain it is to get dressed when you’re not quite dry – chucking on an absorbent towelling dress and some knickers on after her lessons is far less hassle then having to get fully dried and dressed in proper clothes.

The towelling poncho comes into its own during a day on the beach – Amy likes to put hers on after a paddle while she dries off, especially if the fickle British sun has popped behind a cloud! The poncho has long sleeves and a cosy hood (lined with 100% cotton for comfort) and is perfect for pottering on the sand or wearing for the trip home after your beach adventures!

What I would say is that it’s worth sizing up in the towelling poncho – Amy is a tall 7.5yrs old and whilst she wears a 7-9 yrs Muddle Puddles jacket, the age 7-9 yrs poncho was too small for her – so much so she struggled to get it on over her head. The 10-12 yrs is a much better fit for her (and to be honest she prefers it a little big for comfort anyway).
